Zamfara state government has presented one million naira cash each to three persons who recovered two AK 47, two double barrel guns from armed bandits at different locations in the state.
Commissioner of local government and chieftaincy affairs, Bello Dankande who made the presentation, said it is part of the state government’s efforts to end wanton killing of innocent persons and destruction of property by bandits.
One of the primary responsibilities of either the federal or state government is the protection of life and property of its citizens from criminal element.
it is in recognition of this, that the Zamfara state government is taking measures to eliminate the activities of armed bandits which have claimed many lives and wanton destruction of property in the state.
The state government had earlier promised one-million naira cash reward to anyone who is able to recover arms or arrest any of the armed bandits.
The government made well its promise by offering the one million naira cash reward each to three persons who recovered two AK 47 and two double barrel guns at different locations in the state.
The commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Bello Dankande noted that the recruitment of about eight thousand vigilantes to assist the security agencies in the state is yielding positive results in the fight against armed banditry.
The state government also used the opportunity to call on traditional rulers and member of the public to support government’s efforts at ending the armed banditry in the state.
