Yuletide: Bishop Cautions Christians Against Extravagant Expenses
The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, has cautioned Christians against extravagant expenses during the festive seasons to avoid inheriting debts at the New Year.
The cleric, who made the call at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka while delivering his Christmas message, explained that Jesus Christ, whose birth was being commemorated, exemplified humility by accepting to be born in human form to save the world.
On his expectations in the new year, Bishop Ezeokafor advised the government to give hope to the populace by addressing the challenges facing the country, especially in the areas of power supply, agriculture, education and others.
He further said that the coming year will be as any other year with 365 days.
“The year will only meet your expectations if you had prepared for it. All those things expected should first come from you just as the mantra Change Begins With You,” he explained.
