The lawmaker representing Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency made the disclosure at the official media launch of the Young Legislators Accountability Project (#YLAPNG) in Abuja, adding that the present crop of young legislators in the National Assembly were “committed to bringing about change in governance”.

Itodo further stated that #YLAPNG aims to facilitate constituency interactions between legislators and constituents on regular basis to exchange ideas and fulfill representational roles. While describing the legislature as being central to the actualization of the social contract that binds citizens and their elected representatives, he added that #YLAPNG will bridge the gap between the elected representatives and their constituents.

Describing the project as, “a bold and noble initiative”, Ilo expressed confidence that with the support of all stakeholders, #YLAPNG will be a resounding success.
According to Ilo, “What we are doing here today with #YLAPNG is to build a crop of national leaders. It is my hope that this project will improve legislator-constituents relations”.
Clara Barnett of the National Democratic Institute, in her goodwill message thanked YIAGA for embarking on #YLAPNG.
