We’re Yet To Serve Nyako, Ngilari Impeachment Notice, Says Adamawa Assembly Clerk
Clerk of Adamawa House of Assembly, Mr Francis Gabsenso, has said that he was yet to serve Governor Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Mr Bala Ngilari, the notices of impeachment.
The Speaker, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, on Wednesday directed the clerk to serve the duo with the notices of impeachment.
The clerk, who spoke with newsmen on the development yesterday in Yola, said he was yet to serve the governor and his deputy as they were out of town.
“I went to their respective offices but did not meet any of them,’’ Gabsenso said.
Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri, a former member of the state House of Assembly, told NAN that the clerk was wrong in attempting to serve the governor and his deputy with the notices without the House sitting and adopting the procedures of the day.
Adamawa State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the state House of Assembly of acting PDP’s script by serving Governor Nyako and his deputy, Mr Bala Ngilari, an impeachment notice.
Speaking to newsmen yesterday in Yola, APC spokesman, Rev Phineas Padio, told the lawmakers save their energy as what they were doing amounted to a waste of time, noting that their action showed the blind desire of the Adamawa Speaker to occupy the governor’s seat in the state.
