When Will Masari Take The First Step? By Jamilu Mabai
Almost three (3) weeks since the assumption of office by the APC government nationwide. The people of Nigeria celebrated with the unending slogan “CHANGE” at a time when our dear country is experiencing bad economy in all sectors and in all part of the country. In my home state Katsina to be precise the people were happy to finally have a government that will listens to its people demand, a new government for all.
Yes indeed there was too much expectation from the side of the people, by expecting an instant gratification from the new government forgetting the true reality of how change comes in a society that was experiencing the worst of times.
I doubt if it is too early to let go and forget the promises made by our humble governor RT. HON AMINU BELLO MASARI on running a transparent and accountable government. His promises for the respect of rule of law, freedom of speech, restoring the culture of consultation before embarking on a project and many more.
The question is when will RT. HON AMINU BELLO MASARI take the first step towards realizing those promises he made? How long will it take to make the first step? These questions can only be answered by the man himself. Who are the people that will work with him together in steering the wheels of leadership in katsina state?
Though it might be too early to comment on his leadership but his refusal and silence to comment on the undemocratic irregularities that engulfed the entire session during the opening of 8th house of assembly which came as a huge surprise to see such undemocratic uncivil acts acted by the members of the house. We are indeed honestly bitterly disappointed by the uncivil event at the inauguration of the 8th house of assembly.
RT. HON AMINU BELLO MASARI should know that the masses that stood in the cold winter and voted him as their next governor are eagerly anticipating to see him take the first step towards achieving his promises to the people as early indication of no visible audible plan that will ease the tension of hardship and anxiety that comes from such silence.
The journey of a thousand mile begins with a step… When will His Excellency RT. HON AMINU BELLO MASARI take the first step?
