War Against Corruption Will Surely Vanquish Boko Haram By Akorede Shakir
It’s not accidental that Nigeria is recording unfolding defeats over Boko Haram insurgencies, lately. The long-craved-change that took over the government and swung immediately into blunt fight against corruption in the country, particularly the security sector, has reformed and reinforced the morale of the globally-celebrated Nigerian Army to fight to full victory.
As It’s absolutely unrealizable when you expect military chiefs with heavy bellies of corruption to fight at war fronts, it’s equally illogical to expect soldiers who have left nothing for their pauper families at home to collect less than 6 Dollars per day as War fighters, or to sacrifice their lives at dead points, fighting against a suicide bomber who has been paid in millions.
President Muhammadu Buhari I must say however, has tactically got it right by doubling efforts on mending fences with neighboring nations of Cameroon, Benin Republic and others. With this, rebellious influx from different jungles into the country will reduce drastically (or completely if possible). Obviously as such, any ongoing corruption that spurs terrorism from the environs of the borders would also be addressed by the new foreign ties and concerted efforts of the nations.
I pray that Nigeria, as soonest as possible, celebrates elimination of corruption and insecurity challenges that it’s presently at loggerhead with.
God bless Nigeria.
