VP Osinbajo To Meet nPDP Members On Monday
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) will on Monday, meet with members of a bloc within the party, known as the New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), led by Abubakar Kawu Baraje.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin , the Kwara State capital on Sunday, Baraje confirmed the planned meeting with the Vice President and the President, scheduled to hold tomorrow, Monday.
The n-PDP bloc, made up of former members of the previous governing party, the Peoples Democratic Party, claim marginalization in the APC.
He thanked concerned Nigerians who were concerned about their plight in the party, more so, as it has to do with their roles and sacrifices in the emergence of the ruling party in the country.
Baraje expressed hope and optimism that at the end of Monday’s meetings, aggrieved members of the group , the leadership of the party and the nation at large, would come out stronger and more united.
According to him , the next line of action of the group may depend on the outcome of the meeting which will either be to still remain in the APC or take other decisions.
The group had earlier met with the leadership of the APC, where the chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, was represented by the deputy National Chairman (North) of the party, Senator Lawal Zuiabu.
The chairman was out of the country for a medical checkup.
Another meeting also took place recently, which involved larger members of the APC and top chieftains of the party including serving and former governors as well as National Assembly members, where they considered three options toward resolving the issue.
A committee to fine tune their positions was also constituted.
