VIDEO: We Steal Because You Never Stoned Us For It – Amaechi (Watch)

Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi says the reason that political office holders steal fund is because citizens have never confronted or stoned them (including himself) for the act.

Mr Amaechi spoke during a tribute event for Nelson Mandela in Lagos, where he was invited to address the people present.

Amaechi adopted his usual style, arguing that Nigerians must rise up against their leaders, including him. It’s an approach which the governor always adopts – blasting the elite class to which he belongs but saying that they would continue in their oppressive approach unless Nigerians revolt and stone them. “We are stealing because you have not stoned us,” he said.

Gov. Amaechi while referring to the recent letter by the CBN governor to the president, said that Nigerians are not protesting even though they heard that “they stole $50b.” Then rather ridiculously, he said “Me I want to steal only $1bn.”

He said Nigerians have not shown enough aggression or resistance against stealing by political office holders.
