Vice President Osinbajo Advocates Support For Democracy
Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has encouraged Nigerians
to show more commitment to national unity and democratic development.
Osinbajo gave the advice during the funeral service of the founder of Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, Late Dr Fredrick Faseun at the Saint Stephen’s Anglican Cathedral Church, Ondo City, Ondo State.
Professor Osinbajo maintained that Late Faseun spent his lifetime and resources on the restoration of democracy through June twelve and OPC.
Also speaking, governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said the late pro democracy activist and nationalist who always spoke his mind no matter how controversial would remain indelible in the history of Yoruba race for his struggle through OPC
In a sermon, the Archbishop of Ondo Province, Anglican Communion, Most Revd Gabriel Akinbiyi who said death was inevitable for all irrespective of position or status described late Dr Frederick Fasehun as a patriotic Nigerian whose life was devoted to the liberating the people regardless of religious and political affiliations.
Aged, eighty three, late Dr Fredrick Faseun is survived by wife, six children and thirteen grandchildren.
Dignitaries at the event included , Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, former Ondo State governor , Dr Olusegun Mimiko, Minister of State for Niger Delta, Professor Claudius Daramola and Reverend Cannon Adebayo Eso of the Ondo Diocese of Anglican Communion.
