Tinubu To Nigerians: Don’t Accept PDP’s Apology, They Lied To You For 16 Years
The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians not to accept the apology of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He made this known while speaking at the 10th Bola Tinubu Colloquium on Thursday.
Tinubu, who likened PDP to the case of a thief who is only begging because he was caught in the act said that the party looted the nation.
“Don’t take their apologies. They lied, they falsified, they changed figures. For 16 years, they made fake promises and they say don’t talk about it? It is like when you catch a thief and the thief tells you not to talk about it, but tells you to go and steal your own.”
Tinubu said they are talking about “PDP’s stealing and looting” because the APC is against it.
“If we are not talking about it, then what are the lessons for Nigerians? To them in that party, they will not come back,” he said.
Recall that earlier this week, the opposition party, PDP called for the forgiveness of Nigerians over its mistakes.
National chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus made the call at the public discourse on contemporary politics and governance in Nigeria, organized by the PDP in Abuja.
“PDP was in power for 16 years and as expected, we made mistakes. We are sorry for our mistakes and when we return, we shall make this country better. We have experience, no any other party has it”, he had said.
Tinubu hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for his fight against corruption since he took over power in 2015.
“There is a clear understanding here, there is a big difference between us and them; night and day,” he said.
He said although it is not an easy task as there are still challenges, his party is reclaiming and reinventing Nigeria.
He urged Nigerians to be more patient with the APC government.
