The Pastor, Ese And Franca By Tagbo Kenny
David the King penned Psalm 51 after he was confronted by Nathan over his affair with Bathsheba the wife of Uriah. The full detail is found in 2nd Samuel Chapters 11 and 12. It shows how broken and repentant David was after the confrontation.
The Social media was awash with tales of two ladies detailing their encounters (affairs) with a high profile Abuja Pastor. As at the time of writing this piece the Pastor is yet to neither make a comment nor issue any retraction or denial. Tongues started wagging in typical Nigerian style, many falling on both sides of the divide. Many had picked up stones while others were at the roof tops shouting “stone her to death” when Ese Walters (an alleged victim) made her declaration. Many cautioned for restraint before releasing the missiles. Reason based on the fact that it is better to hear from both sides before making a judgment.
The two ladies gave different accounts, one fled before the act, the other was as she said “in a trance” during the episode. The stories are trickling out and I trust Nigerians to give us profiles of the gladiators as time goes on.
One fact that is visible from the information made public so far is that the Pastor has flaws. Even when his escapades in Ilorin, Kwara State was made public his defenders held on to the fact that as a “Man of God or God of Man” he is anointed and therefore should not be “touched”. This assertion by Church goers or shall I say Pentecostal rascals is what has been quoted out of contest from the bible.
The second Lady, Franca E claims that she has photo evidence to tender if the Pastor denies the allegations. She is now shouting that her life and that of her family are being threatened by faceless people trying to defend what no one knows. I suggest that the issue be made a Police case since it now bothers on life and death.
I am not taking sides with any of the victims (Pastor, Ese and Franca), but the issue bothers on emotional and spiritual well being of all that is involved. The Pastor owes his Church, Congregation, Family and especially his wife explanations regarding the allegations whether he is innocent or guilty.
The Bible made us to understand that “God’s mercy endures forever” 26 times in Psalm 136 (NKJ). It is in the interest of the Pastor to come out clean. President Clinton did so when he was involved and his family had moved on since. Hiding under Pastoral anointing to cover evil is not acceptable to man and God. The Bible talked about CONSCIENCE and how it affects others especially those we tend to lead. It is not whether the allegations are true but what will befall the Pastor, his Church, Congregation and Family if he stays dumb as the fire rages on.
