Terrorist Group Set First Lady Mother’s House Ablaze
Suspected Memebers of the dreaded Boko Haram sect continued their assault on properties on friday with the burning of the house belonging to mother of the the First Lady of Yobe state in Damaturu.
The group had earlier in the week razed the office of telecommunication giant, MTN in Maiduguri and destroyed communication mast belonging to Airtel, MTN and Glo in all of Maiduguri, Kano, Potiskum and Bauchi metropolis.
Confirming the incidence, Commissioner of Police in Yobe state, Patrick Egbuniwe said gunmen stormed the First Lady Mother’s house on Gashua road and ordered all the occupants out before setting it ablaze.
“We got a report that the house of the mother in-law to Governor Ibrahim Geidam was burnt down by unknown gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect. Everybody was asked to come out of the house before they finally set it on fire. No life was lost,” he said.
This attack Abusidiqu.com gathered is the second carried out on the same house. The first attack occurred six months ago, where all the occupants were dispossed of their valuables.
