Task Force On Illegal, Small Arms Raids Deziani’s Abuja Home

The Lawyer to Former Petroleum Minister, Deziani Allison-Madueke, Sony Anyanwu, is questioning the legality of Monday’s raid on the Asokoro home of the former minister by the national task force to combat illegal importation of small arms and light weapons.

Anyanwu explained that the activities of groups such as the task force were capable of jeopardizing on-going investigations by the federal government.

The director general, national taskforce to combat illegal importation of small arms and light weapons, Emmanuel Okeleke, however insists that the task force has a search warrant from a court of competent jurisdiction to carry out the search for illegal arms in Deziani’s Asokoro residence.

He said if the legal team of the former petroleum minister was not satisfied with the activities of the taskforce, it should go to court.
