Tambuwwal Meets Buhari, Tinubu, G-5 Governors
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal was yesterday met with leaders of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) and the group of five Governors who on Tuesday last week dumped the PDP for the APC.
Although, there are no indication on the agenda of the meeting, a source said it may not be unconnected with the recent decampment of the G-5 Governors to the APC and how it will affect the members of the House especially as some legislators are also expected to join there governors in decamping to the APC.
Tambuwal who appeared for the meeting at Kano Lodge briefly after the commencement of the meeting, left thirty minutes later, but the meeting was still ongoing even when he left.
He has in the past been linked with the All Progressives Congress, APC and is now expected to formally pitch tent with the party especially as his state Governor, Aliyu Wammako has also declared for the APC.
The meeting which was still in progress as at time of filing this report have former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari and former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in attendance.
Also at yesterday’s meeting which took place at the Kano State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja were former Head of state and 2011 Presidential candidate of Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, General Mohammadu Buhari and former governor of Lagos State and leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, just as Governors Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti; Babatunde Fashola of Lagos; Bola Ajimobi of Oyo state, Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso of Kano; Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers; Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun; Murtala Nyako of Adamawa: Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto, among others.
