Troops Capture Wanted Boko Haram Terrorist Inside Sambisa, Arrests IDP With N1.9m

The army yesterday announced the arrest of a wanted Boko Haram leader, Sulaiman Umaru deep inside the terror sect’s fortress –Sambisa forest.

Some soldiers came under attack from insurgents inside the forest while refitting.

The acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, said Umaru was arrested at about 1.35pm on Friday by troops from the 143 Battalion.

Umaru is one of the 100 Boko Haram terrorists whose photographs are displayed in a poster launched a few months back.

The suspect has been moved to 28 Task Force Brigade Headquarters investigation, the army said.

Usman said troops of 21 Brigade and Armed Forces Special Forces (AFSF) on Operation Crackdown inside Sambisa forest while on harbour for refitting came under Boko Haram militants attack at about 1.45am yesterday.

The troops however repelled the attack and followed up with mopping up operations of the general area before advancing.

Usman said: “Unfortunately five soldiers were wounded in action (WIA), as a result of mortar fired into the harbour area by the Boko Haram terrorists. The wounded soldiers have been evacuated to the rear for treatment.”

The army also said  that N1.9 million was found on an Internally Displaced Person (IDP), Abacha Bulama  in Borno State, when troops from 22 Task Force Brigade Garrison, in conjunction with 112 Task Force Battalion, intercepted and screened 31 IDPs, including women and children coming from Sunabaya, Gumule, Garno and Mane-Gana villages.

The army said Bulama’s claim of being a businessman couldn’t remove the suspicion on why he carried about such a huge amount of money.

He is being detained for further investigation, while other IDPs have been handed over to Dikwa IDP Camp Manager for screening and further humanitarian assistance, the army said.

Meanwhile, the army said the troops from 22 Task Force Brigade Garrison ran into an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Antul, a village south east of Dikwa.

Seven soldiers were said to have been injured in the incident, while four fighters from the Civilian JTF who accompanied the troops also sustained injuries.

The injured soldiers and their civilian counterparts have been evacuated to 7 Division Hospital and Medical Services, Maiduguri, the army said.

Simultaneously, Cameroon said the multinational joint forces fighting Boko Haram captured five leaders of Boko Haram including Boukar Kaou, traditional ruler of Kumche in Nigeria. Dozens of the terrorists were killed and 60 women and children freed.

Cameroon’s communication minister and government spokesperson Issa Tchiroma said 1,000 troops of the multinational joint task force fighting Boko Haram organized systematic raids between May 10 and 12 on Boko Haram bases in Madawaya forest in Nigeria, some seven kilometers from Cameroon’s northern border, killing 58 Boko Haram fighters.

Tchiroma said 15 Nigerian women, three Cameroonian women and 28 children who had been held captive in the Boko Haram stronghold were freed and taken to Cameroon.

Huge quantities of war weapons were either destroyed or seized.

The traditional leader of Kumshe and emir of the terrorist group, were arrested along side dozens of their supporters.

He said that after a recent successful operation in Goshe and Kumche in Nigeria many Boko Haram fighters escaped to the Madawaya forest and created camps for their fighters, where they also trained suicide bombers especially young women and girls.

Cameroon believes the militants have resorted to suicide bombings because their fire-power has been drastically reduced following ceaseless attacks on their stronghold since December 2015 by an eight thousand-strong multinational joint task force with troops from Cameroon, Nigeria, Chad, Benin and Niger.

DSS Arrests Another ‘Top Boko Haram Terrorist’

Nigeria’s secret police, the State Security Service on Wednesday said it arrested one Bello Danhajiya, who it described as an associate of Khalid Al-Barnawi, an alleged terrorist kingpin reportedly captured last week.

The SSS said Mr. Danhajiya was Mr. Al-Barnawi second-in-command.

Below is the full press release by the SSS.

DSS Arrests Albarnawi’s Deputy and Impersonators of Public Officers

You may recall that last week, this Service informed the public of the arrest of Khalid AL-BARNAWI, known for his leadership and notoriety in terrorism activities in Nigeria. Nigerians were also informed of his talent-spotting and recruitment of young people into the Ansaru/Boko Haram terrorist groups. With the arrest of AL-BARNAWI, the Department of State Services (DSS) has made an uncommon success in the decimation of these groups and their leadership. Similarly, the Service wish to inform that it has further arrested Bello DANHAJIYA, a close associate and presumed second in command to AL-BARNAWI.

2. DANHAJIYA is a Fulani from Zamfara State and a strategic accomplice of AL-BARNAWI. Preliminary investigations have disclosed his involvement in gun-running, cattle rustling and other nefarious criminal activities principally on the directives of his commander, AL-BARNAWI. So far, efforts are being made to conclude the investigations and commence prosecution in line with the law.

3. In another development, this Service, worried by the spate of impersonation of government officials and the increasing rate of defrauding of unsuspecting members of the public by some unscrupulous elements, launched detailed investigations aimed at checking the situation. The Service therefore wish to inform the public about the outcome of these successful operations which have led to the apprehension of the following suspects:

i. Aminu ADO (aka Yusha’u Muhammed Yerima ADAM);

ii. David Ali MICHIKA;

iii. Umar HAMZA;

iv. James Malu AKUNE; and

v. Kazeem Kayode USMAN.

4. Aminu ADO: ADO was arrested on 24th March, 2016 at Keffi Nasarawa State. He confessed to defrauding T.Y. DANJUMA (Lt. Gen/Rtd) of N1m in 2015 and wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor of three Hundred thousand Naira in collaboration with one Hajia AISHA (FNU), who impersonated the wife of former Gombe State Governor, Danjuma GOJE. In addition, he confessed to defrauding members of the public by claiming to be the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the President. Further investigation revealed that ADO had the mobile phone numbers of all the Federal Executive Council (FEC) members, some State Governors, their wives and Aides as well as that of prominent Nigerians and Military/Police Officers.

5. David Ali MICHIKA: Subject is a 43-year old from Jimeta, Adamawa State but resides at Ungogo LGA of Kano State. He once lived in Riyad, Saudi Arabia for ten years as an illegal immigrant until he was deported in 2008. He was arrested in Kano for impersonating the Secretary to the Government of The Federation (SGF). MICHIKA had called several high ranking Government officials soliciting for funds to settle spiritualists (Mallams) for prayers rendered for the success of the APC in the 2015 general election and for peace in the nation.

6. Umar HAMZA: HAMZA is a 39-year old school teacher from Tarauni LGA of Kano State. He was recruited by MICHIKA to act as the spiritualist based in Niger Republic to be paid for the service rendered. He received calls from the victims while pretending to be the spiritualist.

7. James Malu AKUNE: AKUNE is a 40-year old male from Tarka LGA of Benue State. He claims to be a contractor with business interests in China and USA. He paraded himself as the brother to the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and defrauded people on false promises of contracts. He equally arranged to get contract for companies from the victim Support Committee for the North-East, headed by T.Y. DANJUMA. Before his arrest, AKUNE called Contractors and promised them appointment with the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.

8. Kazeem Kayode USMAN: USMAN was arrested in Lagos on April 12th, 2016. He has been on the trail of security agencies for the impersonation of Abba KYARI, Chief of Staff to the President.

9. It is instructive to note that these suspects opened and operated bank accounts through which they collected various sums of money from their victims. A major revelation to this effect is the haste with which banks opened accounts for prospective customers without ascertaining their genuine personal details. Another noticeable trend is the spread of impersonators who adopt different illegal means to defraud their victims. The public is to take note of this trend and report such suspicion persons to appropriate security agencies.

10. This Service wish to re-emphasize its commitment to the safety of all law abiding citizens and residents and will continue to decisively deal with those who have chosen to be on the wrong side of the law.

Obama Warns of Terrorist Nuclear Attack

The threat from terrorists trying to launch a nuclear attack that would “change our world” is real, President Barack Obama has said.

The world has taken “concrete” steps to prevent nuclear terrorism, he told the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington.

But the so-called Islamic State (IS) obtaining a nuclear weapon is “one of the greatest threats to global security,” he added.

More than 50 nations were represented at the summit.

World leaders convening in Washington for the summit expressed concern about North Korea’s nuclear weapons programme and Russia’s lack of attendance.

Mr Obama expressed concern that Russia has been building up its military at the expense of nuclear arms reductions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin refused to attend the summit, and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan cancelled his trip after the deadly bombing in Lahore. Both countries are nuclear-armed.

As the summit closed, the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to fight proliferation.

Mr Obama cited progress in making large parts of the world free of nuclear materials. South America had already achieved this, and Central Europe and South East Asia were expected to do so later this year.

“Together, we have removed the world’s most deadly materials from nuclear facilities around the world,” he said.

Despite these gains, Mr Obama said the Indian subcontinent and the Korean peninsula were areas where more could be done to combat proliferation.

Mr Obama said the world cannot be “complacent” and must build on its progress in slowing the stockpiling of nuclear weapons.

IS has already used chemical weapons in Syria.

“There is no doubt that if these mad men ever got their hands on a nuclear bomb or nuclear material, they would certainly use it to kill as many people as possible,” he said.

“The single most effective defence against nuclear terrorism is fully securing this material so it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands in the first place.”

Could Islamic State make a ‘dirty bomb’?

Mr Obama hailed his own nuclear agreement with Iran, which has been criticised by Republicans and other groups for the sanctions relief it provides. He called it a “substantial success”.

“This is a success of diplomacy that hopefully we will be able to copy in the future,” he said.

Mr Obama said Iran has so far followed the letter of the agreement. He urged patience as the country becomes re-integrated into the global economy.

“So long as Iran is carrying out its end of the bargain, we think it’s important for the world community to carry out our end,” he said.

At the summit, Mr Obama was asked about recent comments by presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

The Republican front-runner had floated the idea that Japan and South Korea should have nuclear weapons, a dramatic departure from decades of US foreign policy.

“The person who made the statement doesn’t know much about foreign policy, nuclear policy, the Korean peninsula or the world generally,” Mr Obama said.

[Friday Sermon] Saluting The Defenders Of Our Nation And Warning The People Against Terrorist Organizations By Imam Murtada Gusau

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful

All praise be to Allah for blessing us with a generous nation and greatest bounties. I extol Him as is befitting to His great sovereignty and glorious status and I bear witness that there is no deity but Him; having no associates. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is within them. And He is over all things competent.

I also testify that Muhammad (SAW) is His Servant and Messenger, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, his family, his companions, and all those who will follow them in righteousness till the Day of Judgment.

O servants of Allah,

I urge myself first and all of you to obey Allah and be submissive to Him. Verily, Allah, Exalted is He, has declared the truth in His noble Book:

“O you who have believe, persevere and endure and remain stationed and fear Allah that you may be successful.” (Ali-Imraan: 200)

My respected people,

The homeland is one’s cradle where he lives, acquaints himself with its elements and enjoys its vicinity. As such anyone who has loved his country all throughout his life must be sincere in building it. In this sense, founding nations and civilizations is more than a mission; rather it is a covenant that only people in whom Allah invests honesty can fulfill. That is why people take to defend their homeland naturally and willingly. Some would sacrifice their life and this is the utmost form of generosity. Some would sacrifice their children or their wealth, while others would do all of these and even more.

In Surah An-Naml (Ants), the noble Quran tells the story of a group of people who proposed to their queen to defend their homeland, capitalizing on their might and strong will:

“They said, ‘we are men of strength and of great military might, but the command is yours, so see what you will command’.” (An-Naml: 33)

Some scholars explained that the speakers in this verse were ready to defend their kingdom and their nation by hinting at using force. Yet while taking this stance, they let this matter to the queen with full belief in her prudent opinion. In so doing, they were all set to follow her orders.

As an outcome, she led them to safety, thanks to her wisdom and good sense of judgment. This incident highlights the value of obedience, making it a beneficial lesson especially for the young who are the safety valve for any nation.

Brothers and Sisters,

Please know that safeguarding the homeland is an honour like no other. Its unique status was stressed by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) when he said:

“Shall I tell about a night better than Laylat Al Qadr (the Night of Decree), [It is when] a guard who is on watch in a fearful place and who are Perhaps may not return to his family.”

So congratulations to those who are away from their families, our gallant troops, staying up all night so that others can sleep (peacefully). They battle the cold so their people and nation remain stable and secure. Because of their sacrifice they earn a higher rank.

On the narration of Artaa bin Al Mundhir that Umar bin Al Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, told his companions:

“Who are amongst people shall have greater reward?” They said those who fast and pray, mentioning so and so. Thereupon, he said, “Shall I inform you about the most rewarded of all those you mentioned?” They said, “Yes please.” He said “A man reins his horse and guards people, not knowing if there is a predator around to prey on him, a venomous snake to bite him, or an enemy to assault him. This is a greater recompense than those you mentioned.”

Moreover, it is mentioned in a Prophetic Hadith that the watchful eye on people’s rights, one that guards the borders of the nation and obeys Allah will, by His grace, not be touched by the Hellfire.

Ibn Abbas narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) saying:

“There are two eyes that shall not be touched by the Fire: an eye that wept from the fear of Allah, and an eye that spent the night standing on guard in the cause of Allah.”

Knowing this, anyone, who desires the great reward, should be content with that Allah has prepared for him while he defends his nation, whether in land, sea or sky. It was narrated by Sahl bin Sa’ad, may Allah be pleased with him that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said:

“(Ribat) Guarding the frontier for a day in the cause of Allah is better than the world and what is in it.”

In the same regard, Abdullah bin Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, said:

“I would rather love to stay up all nights guarding and be afraid in the way of Allah, the most Exalted, than giving one hundred camels as charity.”

Dear Servants of Allah,

For the cause of defending the nation one can sacrifice his life, give money or make achievements. An example of this noble mission was taken by a group of people who were praised in the Quran when they offered their wealth to protect their homeland from temptations and threats. The verse reads:

“They said, ‘O Dhul Qarnayn, indeed Gog and Magog are [great] corrupters in the land. So may we assign for you expenditure that you might make between us and them a barrier?” (Al-Kahf: 94)

Ibn Abbas, May Allah be pleased with him, said:

“The expenditure refers here to the money which people wanted to collect amongst themselves and give it out to Dhul-Qarnayn in return for erecting a barrier to keep their enemies away and under control”.

Also, protecting the homeland can be achieved by serving it across all of its institutions and by being dedicated to performing work as it ought to be. Thus one has to be sincere about discharging his responsibilities, and should work on protecting the reputation of his nation. Failing to do so is failing to defend the nation and this is against what our Prophet (SAW) said:

“Every one of you is a guardian and responsible for what is in his custody.”

Dear Worshipers,

Protecting the nation is a responsibility that requires commitment, including praying for the nation and the leaders. On this matter a respected scholar said:

“If I have an accepted supplication I will pray it for the leader.”

Let us then pray to our Lord to confer upon our country, Nigeria, goodness and prosperity as well as continuing safety and security. Doing this is one of the signs of loyalty and sincere sense of belonging. It also reflects the Prophet’s traditions and manners. The Prophet Ibrahim (A.S), for example, prayed for his homeland saying:

“My Lord, make this city (Makkah) secure.” (Ibrahim: 35)

Also the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for his part, supplicated for his homeland as he said:

“O Allah, bless us in our mudd; O Allah, bless us in our saa; O Allah, bless with this blessing two more blessings.”

With this in mind, you are urged to pray for your nation and supplicate to Allah to protect it and bless it with His generous favours. May Allah bless our country with continued bounties and keep it safe from all sorts of evil, Ameen.

Servants of Allah,

Please be aware that you are asked to obey Him, the Almighty, as it ought to be by observing Him in private and in public and know that it falls on us to contribute effectively in educating our children on the love of their nation. It is our responsibility to prepare them during the peacetime to be the builders of their country’s civilization and glories and in need stand as the shield of protection. This is because they are the renewable source of energy from which the country draws its strength and resistance. In this regard, Umar bin Al Khattab, May Allah be pleased with him, said;

“Teach your children swimming, archery and horse-riding.”

Further, let us salute the defenders of this generous nation: our Armed Forces, who ensure safety and security so that everyone can enjoy a stable and serene life. No wonder then if they are referred to as the wealth of this nation, its impervious fort, a symbol of its union, a source of its pride and pillar of its security. In fact without their role we could not have reached such a progress and steady prosperity at all levels. We truly appreciate their unyielding efforts in protecting the nation and its gains, for whose cause they offer their lives.

My respected people,

Apart from that, know that Islam is a religion of forgiveness and leniency. It appeals to people, and let them accept it. Thus it comes to emphasize good morals, lay the foundations of moderation, safeguard human rights, and establish such finest cultural values of coexistence, tolerance and solidarity. Then there has emerged the eternal message of mercy and peace for all mankind. Allah says:

“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the world.” (Al Anbiyaa: 107)

In the same regard, our Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:

“Actually, I was awarded mercy (by Allah).”

This authentic principle is being thoroughly stressed in Islam as he (SAW) said:

“He who shows no mercy to the people, Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, does not show mercy on him.”

He (SAW) said also:

“Mercy is taken away only from him who is miserable.”

Mercy in Islam is a virtue that encompasses also other creatures besides humans. Ibn Mas’ud reported:

“We were with the Messenger of Allah (SAW) during a journey. He went to ease himself. We saw a bird with her two young ones and we captured her young ones. The bird came and began to spread its wings. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) came and said: ‘who grieved this for its young ones? Return its young ones to it.”

If the prophet (SAW) prohibited us to cause suffering to a bird by taking its little chicks, so what would be the case with someone who inflicts grievance on another by taking the life of his brother or relative?

Dear Servants of Allah,

Indeed it is heartbreaking to see the tolerant teachings of Islam and the Prophetic tradition being violated out of proportion. This has been undertaken by sinful groups taking to extremist views and militancy and tarnishing the image of our tolerant religion. In total disregard of religious dictates and in cruelest manner, they unleash havoc, shedding blood and breaching sanctities. Disgracefully, they speak in the name of Islam and attribute their heinous crimes to it.

Nay they have utterly distorted Islam and its human ideals because they endorse an alien ideology that is contradictory to it. Truly, their radical attitude has killed their pure human nature and perceptions, rendering them insensible to morality and humanity.  Can anybody then say that such crimes have anything to do with Islam?

Along this dark, unjust and deadly road have walked those people who are penetrating unspeakable massacres; they kill others in cold blood and disfigure them. They have been tearing down buildings, spilling blood, violating integrities, assaulting women without respect to any of Islam’s commands, nor to any of human’s values or principles. Here again arises a question: where are they from those religious texts that condemn the crimes they do?

Where are they from the incident involving Usama bin Zaid who raised his sword when he (the soldier of the polytheists) uttered: “there is no deity but Allah.” But he (Usama bin Zaid) killed him.

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) called for him and asked him why he had killed him. He (Usama) said: “O Messenger of Allah, he struck the Muslims and killed such and such of them. And he even named some of them. I attacked him and when he saw the sword he said, ‘there is no deity but Allah’.”

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “did you kill him?” he (Usama) replied in affirmative. He (the noble Prophet) remarked: “what would you do with: ‘there is no deity but Allah,’ when he would come (before you) on the Day of Judgment?”

He (Usama) said, “O Messenger of Allah, beg pardon for me (from your Lord).” He (the noble Prophet) said, “what would you do with: ‘there is no deity but Allah’ when he would come before you on the Day of Judgment? He (the noble Prophet) added nothing to it but kept saying, ‘what would you do with: ‘there is no deity but Allah’ when he would come (before you) on the Day of Judgment?

“The Prophet (SAW) kept on repeating that so often that I wished I had not embraced Islam before that day,” Usama bin Zaid said.”

Where they are from the Hadith of the Prophet of mercy (SAW) saying: “a faithful believer remains at liberty regarding his religion unless he kills somebody unlawfully.”

Where are they from the severe warning contained in the words of the Prophet (SAW): “if this world was to be destroyed, that would be less significant before Allah than the unlawful killing of a believer or any innocent person?

Again where are they from the stern warning in the words of the Prophet (SAW): “if the inhabitants of the heavens and the inhabitants of the earth all took part in shedding blood of believer or innocent, then Allah would cast them (all) in the Fire?” How on earth can they ignore the Prophet’s instruction:

“Whoever rebels against my Ummah, killing good and evil people alike, and does not try to avoid killing the believers, and does not pay attention to those who are under a covenant, then he has nothing to do with me and I have nothing to do with him.”

So how will those people meet the Prophet (SAW) on the Day of Judgment while they did not respect the sanctity of his Ummah, and ignored his warnings and orders?

As you can see these verses and Hadiths denounce categorically all forms of extremism and stress the fact that it is against our tolerant religion and call for fighting it by all means.

Dear Muslims, fellow Nigerians,

Since militant ideology has reached this dark alarming level with their advocators having fallen deep in the abyss of impurity, losing sense of conscience and failing to listen to the voice of wisdom and comply with good guidance, then a firm action must be taken. This is required in order to preserve the religion from such an alien system of thought and protect people from the evil posed by those extremists and their gruesome acts. For these reasons and others, addressing the harm caused by those terrorists is legal and legitimate demand. May Allah save our nations from those corrupters and purify it from the extremists, Ameen.

O servants of Allah,

Please obey Allah as it ought to be by observing Him in private and in public and be aware that as the image of our religion is being stained by those groups’ actions of killing innocents, violating sanctities, taking others’ property, it is our duty to show to the world that this is contrary to the teachings of Islam. It is also our duty to warn against any misleading Fatwa that defends those corrupt groups or be deceived by it.

The responsibility rests as well with parents who need to protect their children from any intruding ideology and creed by educating them following the true Islamic principles. The youth, boys and girls, for their part, must adhere to the guidance of genuine Islam and beware of radical ideas and of those who spread them, especially through electronic social network mediums. They also must stand alert not to let themselves be lured to slogans and allegations disseminated by terrorist organizations, which claim falsely glamorous slogans.

My respected people,

Terrorists launched attacks on Yola, Kano, Borno, Paris and Mali killing many people. The attacks occurred at market, farm center GSM market, IDPs camp, Hotel etc. I strongly condemn these attacks. They are very bad, disgust, unpleasant, despicable, cruel, vicious, sinful, atrocious, in human and barbaric. My heart goes out to the victims of all these terror attacks where innocent people have been killed by the wicked people, murderers and blood suckers.

I am profoundly saddened by the loss of life and indiscriminate murder of innocent people. This criminal barbarity is Godlessness. Terrorism has no faith and cannot be condoned by any means, rationale or ideology. We must commit to each other to defeat it. Godless cowards attack unarmed, randomly selected, innocent people. Terrorists are sinful, immoral, barbaric criminals. It is displeasing to hear the media call ISIS, Al-Shabaab, Al-Qaedah or Boko Haram Sunni Jihadists. Neither are their actions from the Sunnah or Islamically considered Jihad.  My thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims, their families and communities.

I ask Allah, the Lord of the worlds, to bring justice to these horrific situations, to recompense those who committed these murders with what they deserve, to bring those still at large to justice, and to rid the earth of these evil, treacherous, murderous lunatics, who do nothing but bring harm and corruption to the world.

O Allah, be with our brave soldiers as they fight against terror. Match forward O defenders of our nation, we are proudly behind you. Do not be scared, be courageous like a lion, be strong and stand for what is right no matter how the challenges. Do not be scared. Be courageous and watch Nigeria begin the revival process, watch Nigeria rescued and watch Nigeria being restored. We shall not be cowed; our humanity shall trump, outrank and defeat their terror by the Grace of the Almighty Allah.

My heart, thoughts and prayers goes to the entire people of Yola, Kano, Borno and all the victims of terror and the victims of injustice any where they are. Be assured that terror will be defeated; terrorism will not win Inshaa Allah!

Inna lillahi wa inna Ilayhir raaji’uun. From Allah do we come and to Him is our return!

Brothers and Sisters,

Just on Sunday’s evening (22-11-2015), Allah reclaimed one more of His beloved Servants. Prince Abubakar Audu, former Governor of Kogi State was to his family a devoted husband and loving father. We all knew him, not only as the former Governor of Kogi State. He was also much-loved father and respected leader to us all.

Even though we should be prepared for death at any time, the suddenness of his departure has left us all in a state of shock. We still have to come to terms with our sense of loss. Perhaps we should remind ourselves, brothers and sisters that the late prince Abubakar Audu was merely on loan to us from Allah. And Allah has now taken back that loan, which was only given to us for a time, in trust. The truth is, we are all on loan from Allah, and surely, some day we will all return to our rightful owner.

A week before his death and departure, I happened to be among the Islamic Clerics delegated to visit and give Naseehah to him in order to fear Allah concerning the people if he wins the election. He promised us that he will not disappoint people if Allah makes him a winner in the coming election.

Being the Muslims we have taken his death in good faith as we strongly believed that Allah gives and Allah takes. To us we also believed that his time was up; nothing any man can do to stop it.

Let us pray to Allah, first of all, to give comfort and solace to the late Prince Abubakar Audu’s family, friends, and associates. And the family of his Royal Highness, the late Pa Audu Oyidi, Orego Atta of Igala land and the paramount ruler of Ogbonicha-Alloma in Ofu Local Government of Kogi State, the people of Ogbonicha, people of Ofu Local Government and entire people of Kogi state and Nigeria. Help them O Allah quickly to ease their pain, and to overcome their sorrow. O Allah gives us and them the fortitude to bear the irreparable and irreplaceable loss. O Allah, showers your mercy and forgiveness on the soul of the late Prince, forgive his shortcomings and failings and allow him to enter your garden (Al-Jannatul Firdausi), Ameen.

Dear Servants of Allah,

Bear in mind that you are asked to offer prayer and a greeting upon our most noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for Allah says:

“Indeed, Allah and His angels sends blessing upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.” (Al Ahzaab: 56)

On the same matter, the Prophet (SAW) said:

“For everyone who invokes a blessing on me will receive ten blessings from Allah.”

He also said:

“Nothing turns back the Decree except supplication.”

May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Master Muhammad (SAW), his family, and all his Companions. May Allah be pleased with the Rightly Guided Caliphs:

Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali and all those who will follow them in righteousness till the Day of Judgment.

May Allah grant success to our Armed Forces and add strength to their strength. May Allah reward them abundantly, for the work they were rendering to their nation.

O Allah, we implore You at this instant not to let a sin unforgiven, a distress unrelieved, an illness unhealed or a handicapped without relief, a dead without mercy or a debt unsettled. Our Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire.

May Allah help us succeed in these blessed days in every work to please you, O Lord of the Worlds.

O Allah, may we ask You to help us with what get us closer to Paradise and furthers us from hell. O Allah we seek Your grace to admit us, our parents, our leaders and whoever has done a favour to us and all Muslims to Your Paradise.

May Allah grant success, guidance, protection and continued good health to our leader President Muhammadu Buhari. May Allah also ensure success to his Deputy, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and provide strength and assistance to his ministers.

O Allah forgives all of the Muslims, men and women living and dead, and makes blessings follow us and them.

May Allah protect and have mercy on His Eminence, the Sultan, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III and all our respected Emirs.

O Lord forgives and show mercy to our parents, relatives and whoever has done a favour to us.

O Allah, we pray to you to grant your forgiveness and mercy to who built this mosque, Alhaji Ahmad Adoke, and to his parents as well as to anyone who help the development of this mosque. O Allah, we also supplicate to You to forgive whoever built a mosque where Your name is remembered.

We pray to Allah, the Most Gracious, to preserve and protect Nigerians from all temptations, both apparent and hidden, and continue blessing our nation and all countries with safety and security.

O Allah, make this our gathering one of compassion and our dispersion after it one that is infallible.

O Allah, do not let anyone amongst us deprived, desperate or unhappy. O Merciful One grants us Your Mercy, Ameen.

O servants of Allah,

Remember Allah and He will remember you. Be grateful for His benevolence and He will increase His blessings to you. Allah, the Most High, says:

“And establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoings, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do.” (Al-Ankabuut: 45)

Another Wanted Boko Haram Terrorist Arrested In Adamawa State

Barely 24 hours after one of the 100 suspected Boko Haram terrorist declared wanted the Nigerian Army was arrested in Abuja, the military has arrested another wanted suspect.

Acting Nigerian Army Director of Public Relations Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman said in a press statement that preliminary interrogation revealed that Wardifen, who is #22 on the list, to be a Cameroonian citizen.

He has been handed over to military intelligence for further investigation and possible prosecution.

“Visual matching with photographs on the poster of the 100 declared suspected Boko Haram terrorists wanted list released by the Nigerian [Army] last month, shows that he clearly resembles the suspect on serial number 22 on the list,” the statement said.

The army reiterated its call on all citizens and well-meaning residents of Nigeria to continue to be more vigilant and security conscious towards ridding the country of the menace of terrorism and insurgency.

‘Nigerian Army Uncovers Major Bomb-Making Factory, Arrests Terrorist Leader [Photos]

Troops of the 25 Task Force Brigade of the Nigerian Army have uncovered a major bomb-making factory and arrested a terrorist leader and two others, the spokesperson for the army, Sani Usman, has said.

Mr. Usman, a colonel, described the finding as “an unprecedented feat” in the fight against the extremist Boko Haram sect in its area of operations.

A statement by Mr. Usman Friday, said the Task Force Brigade, during a cordon and search operation at Sandia, Kokakowa and Nyaleri villages, suspected to be Boko Haram enclaves, uncovered and destroyed the Improvised Explosives Device (IED) making factory at Miyati and Nyaleri villages, along the Maiduguri-Bulabulin-Damboa road, in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State.

“In addition, three terrorists were arrested comprising an “Ameer”, a high contact and a foot soldier,” the army spokesperson said.

He added, “Among items discovered apart of the IED making equipment, were a Peugeot pick up van, foodstuff, 10-KVA Lister generator, gas cylinders, borehole, 9 bags of fertiliser, pumping machine, 3 bags of maize, 1 bag of millet and 13 empty AGO jerry cans, amongst others.

“The joint operation between the Brigade and Nigerian Air Force who provided air cover and tracking, was part of the determined effort by the military to rout out terrorists in the general area and open more roads hitherto held by the terrorists for public usage. It is also part of the renewed effort and vigour on the part of our troops to meet up with the set dateline that has turned the tide and momentum of the battle against the Boko Haram terrorists in our country.

“I am glad to say that the troops are on high morale and very excited with their accomplishment thus far.

“In a related development, troops have made substantial progress in an advance to reclaim and destroy terrorists held areas within Gamboru Ngala general area.”

[Friday sermon] “You Are A Terrorist Or Boko Haram!” Say “No, I Am A Muslim” By Imam Murtada Gusau

Alhamdu lillah. Indeed, all praise is due to Allah. We praise Him and seek His help and forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil within ourselves and from our wrongdoings. He whom Allah guides, no one can misguide; and he whom He misguides, no one can guide.

I bear witness that there is no (true) god except Allah – alone without a partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (SAW) is His ‘abd (Servant) and Messenger.

“O you who believe! Revere Allah the right reverence, and do not die except as Muslims.” (Al-Imran, 3:102)

“O people! Revere your Lord who has created you from a single soul, created from it its mate, and dispersed from both of them many men and women. Revere Allah through whom you demand things from one another; and (cherish the ties of) the wombs, Indeed, Allah is ever-watchful over you.” (Al-Nisa’, 4:1)

“O you who believe! Revere Allah and say fair words. He will then rectify your deeds and forgive your sins. He who obeys Allah and His Messenger have certainly achieved a great victory. (Al-Ahzab, 33:70-71)

Indeed, the best speech is Allah’s (SWT) Book and the best guidance is Muhammad’s (SAW) guidance. The worst affairs (of religion) are those innovated (by people), for every such innovation is an act of misguidance leading to the Fire.

My Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Recently I was invited to talk to some children, students and their parents at a mosque in my Home town Gusau, Zamfara state. After the talk a little girl who looked about 8 years old, raised her hand rather shyly and said: “Sir, what should I say when someone calls me a Terrorist or Boko Haram?”

My Respected people,

That question caught me by surprise, and for a moment I wasn’t sure how to answer. So, I asked her: “What was your reply?” She said, “I just told them, I’ m not a terrorist or Boko Haram. I’ m a Muslim. Then I walked away.” I smiled and said to the little girl, “Young lady, that’s the best answer you could have given. You’re not a terrorist or Boko Haram. You’re a Muslim. The two are not the same. And they could never be the same.”

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This episode raises a rather important topic:

How do we handle abusive and insulting people? Do we lose our temper? Do we resort to violence? Do we walk away and say nothing? How should we react? If we return insult with insult we only make matters worse. And our mission is to contribute in solving the world’s problems. Some people say revenge is sweet: an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. If that’s the way the world works, then the whole planet will end up blind and toothless. A silly man burns Qur’ans in America. Some fools provokes Muslims by drawing cartoons ‘as they says’ of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and hundreds of people in Pakistan, Niger etc. go on the rampage, burning down churches and a branch of McDonalds and causing injury and death. Someone pushes our panic button and thousands of Muslims respond, right on cue. Some years back a Danish newspaper publishes some silly cartoons also they said of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and instead of just ignoring them, some Muslims start a worldwide campaign to boycott all Danish goods. We seem to forget that, for years, Denmark has been at the forefront of humanitarian work, welcoming refugees and asylum seekers when others have shut their doors. How silly can you get? We complain that all Muslims are blamed for the bad behaviour of a few, yet we want to blame all Danish people and all Americans for the actions of one or two individuals. Brothers and Sisters, that makes no sense!

Anger and abuse that flows from a damaged self-esteem, from a bruised ego, belongs to the lower nafs, the lower self. As Muslims and believers, we claim to be followers of the ‘best of creation’ rahmatal lil aalameen, the Mercy to all the worlds, Muhammad (SAW). We should always therefore refer to the higher, not the lower inclinations within us. The prophetic way is to look beyond the bad behaviour; look to the heart, to the fu’ad, the kernel of goodness buried in the soul of every human being.

When Prophet Muhammad (SAW) went to Ta’if to preach Islam there, the people drove him out with such violence that he was battered, bruised and lost a tooth. His blood-soaked sandals stuck to his feet. The Angel of Mountains appeared, and offered to crush the people of Ta’if in an earthquake. But this alarmed the prophet. He refused the offer, saying that he was not a Prophet of revenge, but a Prophet of mercy. Perhaps one day the children of Ta’if will accept Islam. He was right. In time, they did accept Islam.

After years of exile, when Prophet Muhammad (SAW) returned to Makkah leading a huge army, he could have slaughtered all his enemies. Instead, he forgave them. This supreme act of mercy won the hearts of the Makkans and almost the whole city accepted Islam.

We should follow the Prophetic example. We should ignore insults, win our enemies’ hearts and minds and defuse explosive confrontations. Don’t throw fuel on the fire. As Muslims, we should all become fire-fighters, not arsonists. This enables us to gain the moral high ground, and with Allah’s help, we can turn enemies into friends. Read in Surah Al-Fussilat, Allah the Most High said:

“And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does good deeds and says, “Indeed, I am Muslim.” Good deeds and bad deeds are not equal. Repel [evil] by that which is better; and thereafter, your enemy will become your devoted friend. But no one is granted this except those who are patient, and no one is granted it except one having a great portion [of good]. And if there comes to you from Satan an evil suggestion, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.”

That is why, whenever we feel an evil inclination, we should always say:

“A uthu bil-Laahi minash shaytaanir rajeem.” “I take refuge in Allah from Shaytaan (Satan), the Cursed One.”

When rudeness is met with unexpected kindness it immediately changes the paradigm. The one who insults you thinks he’s in control. He wants to provoke you but your courtesy and your dignity throws him off balance. Many of Islam’s enemies were thus conquered by kindness. Allah has the key to all hearts, and if you obey Allah and follow in the footsteps of His beloved Prophet, (SAW), then you are on the Siratal-Mustaqeem, the Straight path leading to Al-jannah (Paradise), Allah’s eternal Garden.

Umm Salamah reports that one of the prayers she heard Prophet Muhammad (SAW) recite most often was:

“Yaa Muqallibal Quluub Thabbit Qalbee ‘alaa Deenik.”  “Oh turner of the hearts please turns our hearts towards Your obedience.”

My Respected people,

We all know the story of the woman who left her rubbish at Prophet Muhammad’s door every day.

He, (SAW), never complained, but just quietly cleared it away without any fuss. Then one day there was no rubbish there, so he went to visit the woman and found she was ill. No fuss, no remonstrations of a bruised ego. The Mercy to All the Worlds showed mercy to this sick woman who always treated him with contempt. He brought her some food and stayed there to comfort her. Allah turned her heart over to Islam. She became a Muslimah. Where anger and retaliation would have made matters worse, she was won over with kindness. This is the Prophetic way, the true Islamic way.

Many of the greatest Sahaabah, the companions of the prophet, (SAW) were his mortal enemies before their hearts were turned to Islam. Khalid bin Walid and Amr ibn al As fought against the Muslims in the battle of Badr. When Allah unlocked their hearts, they again went into battle, leading victorious armies but now it was in the name of Islam. Khalid bin Walid conquered the Romans and Amr ibn al As conquered Egypt. Even in our times, people who hated Muslims vehemently, ex-members of the Klu-Klux-Klan in the USA and leading members of the Dutch right wing party have taken the Shahaada, made tauba (repented) to Allah, and apologized for their previous bad behaviour. We don’t know, and Allah alone knows. One day, some of our worst enemies could well be standing shoulder to shoulder with us, as brothers, in prayer. That is Allah’s secret. We have to trust Allah and live hopefully.

We must never take insults personally. When someone insults you, it’s because they are just insecure and ignorant. Smile and ask them politely what they mean. Ask why they feel so angry. Don’t become defensive and don’t retaliate. Keep your dignity; keep your courtesy, your good manners and sense of humour. And if that doesn’t work, just say, “I am a Muslim,” then walk away. Be like that 8 years old girl, using her intuition, her fitra, that primordial innocent nature that Allah has planted inside our hearts.

Allah is with those who patiently persevere: “innal Laaha ma’as Saabireen.”

In my Recent Ramadan trip to Makkah Saudi Arabia, on our Journey to Umrah (Lesser Hajj), in the restaurant, a Pakistani, talked to us: are you from Nigeria? We replied yes. He then said: you are Boko Haram. One of my friends shouted at him and wanted to fight him. I ask him to leave the man alone, since we are not Boko Haram. And the issue became history and past tense. The man became our friend and end up playing and laughing together.

My Dear Sisters and Brothers,

You may have seen reports of young Muslims going to the North east Nigeria or Middle East to join the fighting there. Just as prophet Muhammad (SAW) predicted, this is a time of fitna, the time of trials. This is a time of confusion. People are being killed and they don’t know why they are being killed. People are killing and they don’t know who they are killing. We hear of shifting alliances, reports of kidnapping and executions of journalists and aid workers. War is a very messy business. It’s not the glamorous stuff of Hollywood movies, paint-ball or video games. War is for real. If any of my own children or grandchildren were considering such a move my advice would be: Don’t go. Muslims are killing Muslims over there, and everyone claims Allah is on their side.

The Noble Qur’an warns us that:

“Whoever kills one innocent life, it’s as if he has killed all of mankind; and whoever saves one life, it is as if he has saved all of mankind”.

You may think that you are going to help a just cause, and that you are going to defend the weak against the oppressed. But things are far from clear. And things get more complicated and confusing every day. What if you actually killed one or more of Allah’s devoted, believing servants? When you take aim with a deadly weapon in your hands, can you be absolutely sure that you are not committing a terrible sin? In the heat of battle, how do you know? Wouldn’t it be wiser to stick to things you are sure of, and to avoid doubtful actions? How do you know that going over there will make things any better? It could also make things a lot worse! You may have good intentions but when you get there you may find the opposite of what you expect, and then it’s too late to change your mind. You heard the saying; “the way to Hell is paved with good intentions…”

On the other hand, you can do so much good work over here. There are so many ways you can serve Islam and help to save lives from over here, by helping to raise funds, and collect clothes, food and medicines for Emergency relief. Thousands of volunteers, NGOs are doing so already. Government officials from NEMA are doing so already. Why not join them instead? Why not stick to what you know is good work than to take risks with something that could be seriously sinful?

People who volunteer for emergency relief work are also showing the love, mercy and generosity of Islam. These are important aspects of Allah’s 99 beautiful Names, the Asma ul Husna.

My Dear Sisters and Brothers,

I pray that Allah will guide us in these difficult times. May Allah help us to internalize His noble qualities of Mercy, Love and Wisdom. Let us show Patient, Perseverance in serving others, and building bridges between Muslims and our neighbours in the wider community. Let us pray that Allah help us to become better Muslims so that we can set a good example for others.

Brothers and Sisters, to conclude our Khutbah (Sermon), I will say:

“Surely Allah commands justice, good deeds and generosity to others and to relatives; and He forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and rebellion; He instructs you, so that you may be reminded.”

“And remember Me, I will remember you. Be grateful to Me, and do not reject faith.”

“And without doubt, Remembrance of Allah is the Greatest Thing in life, and Allah knows the deeds that you do.”

This Khutbah (Friday Sermon) was prepared for delivery today, Shawwal 22, 1436 A.H (August 7, 2015), by Imam Murtada Muhammad Gusau, the chief Imam of Nagazi-Uvete Jumu’at Mosque, Okene, Kogi State Nigeria. He can be reached via: 08038289761 (+2348038289761)

SEE Nigeria’s First Female ISIS Terrorist

  • Grace Dare, who now uses the name Khadijah, is with ISIS in Syria
  • Her heartbroken mother Victoria, from Lewisham, has spoken for first time
  • Has issued a plea for her daughter and grandson to come home
  • Says Dare was a devout Christian as a child and ‘loved to pray’
  • Her daughter has become a terrorist poster girl and regularly issues threats
  • Dare has said she wants to become the first woman to behead a Westerner
  • Her Swedish husband Abu Bakr has reportedly been killed

She was among the first Britons to join the terrorists of Islamic State and regularly takes to Twitter to issue violent threats, including one in which she spoke of her wish to become the first woman to behead a Westerner.

But despite all that, Khadijah Dare’s heartbroken mother Victoria has used her first ever interview to call upon her daughter to return and says she wants her only child in her life.

Mrs Dare, from Lewisham in South London, also revealed that her daughter had been an equally devout Christian as a child but turned to Islam while at college.

‘She loved church,’ said Mrs Dare in an interview due to be screened tonight as part of a BBC documentary.

‘She had a Bible, she read the Bible. She would sit there and pray and pray and pray.’

Dare, who was born in Nigeria but emigrated to the UK as a child, was originally christened Grace but, says her mother, the 22-year-old changed it after she began attending services at the Lewisham Islamic Centre – a mosque also linked to the Lee Rigby killers.

‘When she became Muslim, I would get these phone calls saying, “Can I speak to Khadijah?” I said to her, what’s that about?

She says, “Oh, that’s my name”. It was only the mosque people who called her Khadijah. I don’t call her that.’

Now living in Syria, Dare, who married a Swedish IS terrorist calling himself Abu Bakr almost as soon as she arrived, has reportedly been widowed.

Nevertheless, she continues to spread IS propaganda online and has been accused of encouraging other young women to travel to the Middle East, much like fellow British jihadi bride Umm Layth.

Umm Layth, who was unmasked as a Glaswegian teenager named Aqsa Mahmood last year following a MailOnline investigation, has even offered advice to would-be jihadis on what clothes to bring and what they can expect from life with IS.

But her family’s lawyer, who appears on BBC documentary Britain’s Jihadi Brides alongside Mrs Dare and Renu Begum, sister of one of the three missing Bethnal Green schoolgirls, says the reality is very different.

‘There’s nothing loving about them and there’s nothing religious about them because they are ripping the heart out of our communities,’ says Aamer Anwar.

‘They are like paedophiles. They are groomers. They are getting their claws into people and ripping them away from the families who love and care about them.’

Mahmood, who, say her family, was once a ‘kind, caring individual’ and a ‘loving young woman’, is now helping to radicalise would-be jihadi brides herself, as well is issuing threats and encouraging Muslims to take up arms.

‘Follow the examples of your brothers from Woolwich, Texas and Boston,’ read a tweet posted last summer. ‘If you cannot make it to the battlefield, then bring the battlefield to yourself.’

Another blog post claimed that within two generations, the world would be under the heel of an ‘Islamic Empire’.

‘Know this Cameron and Obama, your countries will be destroyed and your kuffar [non believers] beneath our feet,’ wrote the 20-year-old.

‘If not you, then your children or your grandchildren. This Islamic Empire will be known and feared worldwide and we shall follow none other than the law of the one and only Allah.

I Will Handover A Nigeria Completely Free Of Terrorist Strongholds, Jonathan Assures

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan pledged Thursday in Abuja that he will do all within his powers to ensure that all Nigerian territory still held by terrorists and insurgents are totally liberated before May 29, 2015.

Receiving a delegation of Heads of Customs from the West and Central African Region of the World Customs Organisation led by the Secretary-General of the organisation, Mr. Kunio Mikuriya, President Jonathan said that he was determined to hand over a country completely free of terrorist strongholds to the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.

The President said that ongoing military operations in the North-East had already recorded huge successes, with two states completely free from the control of terrorists, while operations in the third state had reached a concluding stage.

“We can now say two states are completely free from terrorist control, while in the third state, it is only in one Local Government Area that they are still present. That is in the Sambisa Forest,” he said.

President Jonathan noted that the military had already moved into the forest to seize the remaining camps of the terrorists, adding that the recent rescue of about 300 abducted girls and women was further evidence of the success being achieved in the ongoing operation.

On his decision to concede victory to the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, before all the results of the presidential elections were announced, President Jonathan said that elections must be approached from a nationalistic point of view.

“Our elections should be about where Nigeria is going. If Nigeria is moving forward, it is for the good of all Nigerians. My children and grandchildren will live and grow in this country and contribute to it. I always tell my colleagues to leave office when their time is up. We are trying to encourage African leaders not to remain in power as kings until death,’’ he said.

Mr. Mikuriya commended the President for supporting the reform of the Nigeria Customs Service, noting that other African countries had already started emulating the vision, strategy, adoption to new technology and result- oriented training of officers that were captured in Nigeria’s reforms.

VIDEO: Bayelsa Governor, Seriake Dickson, Leads Thugs To Attack, Sack Court In Yenagoa

The Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, on Monday led a gang of thugs to attack a Federal High court in Bayelsa, a video obtained by PREMIUM TIMES has shown

The video shows the governor, dressed in traditional Ijaw blazers, walking into the court premises, accompanied by his police guards and hangers on, before hooligans, including rifle wielding police officers, invaded and attacked the court.

The thugs were chanting “we no go gree, for this state, e no possible” as they walked into a court hearing. Loud gunshots could be heard shortly before the hooligans began breaking glasses and destroying properties inside the court.

At least 15 lawyers, including a pregnant woman and two Senior Advocates of Nigeria, were in the court during the attack.

The governor walked out of the court premises at the peak of the attack.

Most police officers seen within the court premises during the attack either aided the attacker or looked on, idly.

Only one police officer was seen, in the video, after the attack, trying to help the injured.

The thugs upturned chairs within the court room, scattered files all over and shattered glass windows as lawyers ducked under tables. A female lawyer covered herself with a chair.

Another could be heard saying her upper arm was hurting.

An elderly man, who was seemingly brought out of the court room by police officers, gasping for breath, said he was badly beaten by the thugs who came into the court room.

“The governor and his troops walked into the court room and I was beated (sic),” the victim said.

Why Dickson stormed the court

According to Heineken Lokpobiri, a serving senator, the court was in session to deliver a judgment on his case against the governor’s preferred senatorial candidate, Foster Ogola, over the validity of the later’s candidacy for Bayelsa West senatorial district.

Mr. Lopkobiri claimed his party, the Peoples Democratic Party illegally substituted his name with Mr. Foster’s, and had filled a suit accusing Mr. Foster of issuing false information to INEC.

Mr. Lokpobiri added that the attack on the court was the second, claiming that earlier, thugs had come to seal the court and stopped the Judge from entering the court, forcing an adjournment.

Mr. Lokpobiri told PREMIUMTIMES he was shocked and irritated by the governor’s action at the court.

Mr. Lokpobiri said the governor has the right to support his opponent, but has no right to bring thugs to attack the court.

“All these things happened in the presence of the commissioner of police and am surprised. If the governor did not lead the thugs, it would have been a different thing entirely,” he said.

The governor’s spokesman, Daneil Iworiso, told PREMIUM TIMES the incumbent governor did not lead any gang to the court.

But in the video, Governor Dickson was clearly seen storming, and at the end of the attack, leaving the court accompanied by thugs and police officers.

Mr. Iworiso however described the video as photoshopped.

“You know its election time and we need to ensure that no violence occurs in our state, as soon as we heard of the clash we went there with commissioner of police and armed men to try to cub the situation that was when we found out it was a case between the incumbent governor and aspiring governor,” he said.

He explained that the governor was not there when the clash started, stating that it was all propaganda.

“When I saw the video I was just laughing because it was all photo shoot, and I describe that as poor representation of what happened there and I was also there,” he said.

Mr. Iworiso accused Mr. Lokpobiri of also bringing thugs to the just-concluded PDP primaries, stating that he is known for carrying thugs around Bayelsa state.

Mr. Lokpobiri admitted he has a loud crowd and followership but that his followers and loyalists are peaceful.

“If he is accusing me of carrying thugs in the last primaries, did they destroy anything or harm anyone during the election,” Mr. Lokpobiri said.

Although several police officers were present when the attack occurred, the Bayelsa Police Command said no arrest has been made in relation to the incident.

Asinim Butswat, the state police spokesperson, said he had no information that the governor led the thugs to the court premises.

“What we know is that the governor visited the court and the thugs took advantage of his visit to force the gate open and invade the court,” Mr. Butswat said.

“The police officers on the court premises did not know the thugs came to cause havoc because they were not armed.

“After they attacked the court, they all fled before they could be arrested.”

Mr. Buswat denied the state police commissioner was present when the court was attacked, saying he only visited the court “shortly after the incident”.

I Told You Jonathan Was A Terrorist; Now You See He Is A Terror Grandmaster By Peregrino Brimah

All Nigeria’s terrorists are now formally under Jonathan’s employ. When the president of Nigeria brags about creating employment, it should be taken in context.

MASSOB armed and violent terrorists of the southeast have been hired by the president and his ruling PDP party to foment chaos and destruction of life and property to protect a Jonathan friendly administration.

OPC armed terrorists are doing same, paid by Jonathan, in the Southwest. We have images of them vandalizing public property and opposition billboards with the Nigerian police and army, now a terror appendage of Jonathan’s in full supervision.

The Vice president’s Boko Haram terrorists who are doing the same in the north were seen days ago holding him, Namadi Sambo hostage for nonpayment of their salaries for terrorism work done.

And we do not need talk about MEND and the Dokubo, Dickson, Boyloaf, Tompolo, Kuku dem assemblies where they rise up and threaten Nigeria openly, while warning voters to vote for the opposition ‘at their own peril.’

Among other things, the plan includes using armed terrorists and the state security to intimidate good and progress ready people away from polling booths next week.

Nigeria will never fully recover from this reign or terror. Good people have sat down quietly too long and now bad people and terrorists have been employed and empowered beyond imagination.

Do you still have doubts having seen how Jonathan sponsors all these terrorists to further his political ambition, that he did same and is the chief sponsor of Boko Haram? Little wonder he protected them as his ‘siblings’, and his beat buddy, PDP chair Bamanga Tukur said they were fighting for justice.

Nigeria is in soup. Rest in peace General Andrew Azazi. Reat in peace too UN, AU, ICC and co. You watched us die under a regime of Terror while pretending not to notice.
