Atiku Abubakar: A Political Prostitute – Tinubu

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu, has vowed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would beat down the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2019 general elections.

Tinubu, stated this at the National Consultative Forum of the National Committee of Buhari Support Groups held in Abuja.

The former Lagos Governor flaying what he described as political prostitution by PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

He also criticised Senate President Bukola Saraki for allegedly riding on the ruling party’s mandate to give a lifeline to the opposition. “He left the PDP, joined us, got elected, got our mandate, our majority and sold it for a pot of pottage. God is honest, Saraki is not,” Tinubu said.

Recall that Atiku Abubakar formally joined the PDP in December 2017, a week after he dumped the APC. He served as Nigeria’s Vice-President from 1999-2007, under the PDP.

Atiku Is The Man That Can Bring Food To The Table – Saraki Tells PDP Supporters

Senate President Bukola Saraki says the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is the one capable of bringing food to the table.

Saraki said this on Monday during the launch of the 2019 PDP presidential election campaign in Sokoto.

His words: “The man that can bring food to the table, the man that can fight security, the man that can unite Nigeria is Atiku Abubakar.”

He added that the PDP has come to make situations better and uplift the life of Nigerian citizens.

“Now, they will deceive you to say that this election is about Atiku Abubakar and President Muhammadu Buhari. But, the election is not between the two of them. The election is about you, it’s about you women, it is about you, the young people of Nigeria. It is about every Nigerian citizen who is suffering untold hardship on account of lack of leadership.

“So, we want to review a lot of things. For instance is your lives better now than in 2015? Is security better now than it was in 2015? Are we more united now in Nigeria than we were in 2015? So, these are the things that are on the ballot paper.

“It is not a contest between Atiku Abubakar and President Muhammadu Buhari.”

Social Investment Programmes: BMO Accuses Senate Leadership Of Acting Atiku’s Script

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has accused the leadership of the Senate of acting the script of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar on the Social Investment Programme (SIP) of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

it said in a statement by its Chairman Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke that the probe ordered by the senate is a ploy to cast aspersion on  the social welfare scheme through unwarranted accusations

BMO wondered how members of a political party that claims to be interested in the well being of Nigerians would be keen on truncating series of programmes that have benefited millions of people across the country.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the programmes in questuom include N-Power, National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, National Cash Transfer Project, and Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) which has three components-Trader Moni,Market Moni and Farmer Moni.

“We wonder which of these programmes that have cumulatively lifted millions of Nigerians out of poverty PDP senators want abolished!

“Is it the N-Power scheme that has employed 500,000 youth graduates who are paid a monthly stipend of N30,000 and deployed as volunteers in various sectors of the economy or GEEP which has so far reached over 1.1 Million Beneficiaries across the 36 States of the Federation, with N27.4 billion disbursed in interest-free loans, ranging from N10,000 to N350,000”

It however welcomed the move by senators of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC to ensure that the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Program (Sure-P) was included in the probe

This BMO argued would give members of the Senate panel especially those from PDP the opportunity to compare between the pro-poor initiative of President Buhari and a programme that was elitist in concept and practice.

“The probe would give the Senate ad-hoc committee led by Senator Ibrahim Gobir a better insight into one of Africa’s largest social welfare schemes which has touched lives in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory” it added

The group is convinced that Nigerians especially the millions of SIP beneficiaries would revolt against the conspiracy to abolish the scheme by giving President Buhari a resounding endorsement in next year’s election for the continuity of the programmes

Kwarans Marginalization: Your Statement Is False, Unpatriotic, Buhari’s Aide Tells Saraki

Mohammed Brimah, Special Assistant on IDPs to President Muhammadu Buhari, has condemned Senate President Bukola Saraki’s statement alleging that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), does not have the interest of Kwara and Kwarans in its agenda.

Saraki, while receiving defectors into the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his home state had stated that “ever since I left the party (APC) as your representative at the National level, who among those calling themselves APC members in Kwara today have been included in any National affairs of APC?”

“If you ask those following them what they have benefited, aside fighting Saraki, nothing tangible will they be able to point at. Is that a party that Nigerians need at the moment?”

Responding to the claims, Brimah, at a meeting with members of the Kwara State Chapter of the All Progressives Youth Forum (APYF), in Abuja, debunked Saraki’s claim and described it as figment of his imagination.

Brimah, who also hails from Kwara State, explained that the Buhari-led administration has stood its ground in committing to youth inclusiveness and participation.

In his words: “President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration has spent a total of ?4,105,372,257 in positively impacting the lives of both the young and old in Kwara State.

“The Buhari-led administration has also empowered over 14,000 Kwara youths through one of the Social Investment Programmes – Npower. Another 13,067 beneficiaries are currently benefiting from the Government Enterprise & Empowerment Programme (GEEP). Presently, 13,809 Kwarans are beneficiaries of National Cash Transfer Programme (NCTP).

“In few weeks, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) will be visiting Kwara state to launch the Trader Moni scheme for another set of 35,000 petty traders in Kwara State. These traders will be supported with loans to strengthen the federal government’s commitment to financial inclusion.”

The presidential aide also enjoined the supporters of President Buhari in the state to always ignore the offensive speeches by Saraki, reminding them that he has shown that he is a very dangerous person who can go any length to promote his personal interests.

“One would think with the experience and position Saraki currently holds, he would managed to play the role of a nationalist and a statesman, but sadly, rather than protect the interest of Nigeria both locally and internationally, he has been at the forefront of frustrating the efforts of President Buhari to reposition the country and make things happen.

“Saraki’s ever failing integrity test and litany of corruption charges against him are now manifesting in his loyalists and aides,” Brimah said.

Recall that Saraki’s anointed candidate for the 2019 gubernatorial election in Kwara State, Hon Razak Atunwa, is already engulfed in in certificate forgery scandal. Report has it that the PDP’s governorship Candidate, Mr. Atunwa did not participate in Nigeria’s compulsory national youth service scheme (NYSC). Instead, he procured a forged discharge certificate of NYSC which he submitted to the PDP to prove his eligibility for public office.

Similarly, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Saraki’s aide, Gbenga Makanjuola, for an alleged fraud of N3.5bn. Also, documents revealed that Abiola Aiyegbayo, wife of Bamikole Omisore, Special Adviser on International Relations to Saraki, has been receiving monthly salaries of N151,788 from the Senate without rendering any service to the National Assembly.

Additionally, Saraki is having a running battle with the Nigerian Police over his alleged linkage to the wide-ranging robbery operation that resulted in the death of 33 people in Offa, Kwara State in April.

Brimah, in his closing remarks, urged the youths and support groups in the state to embark on an aggressive campaign for the APC and vote massively for all the party’s candidate in the 2019 general elections.

Restructuring: Beyond A Necessity, By Eugene Bright

It is great that most parties have now identified their flag bearers for the 2019 Presidential Election. In that vein, I would love to congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, and Alhaji Abubakar Atiku of the People’s Democratic Party as the two major contenders.

The debate is expected to be issue-based, and void of unnecessary propaganda (hopefully) from both camps.
One of such issues is that of #Restructuring which appears to be a major part of Alhaji Abubakar Atiku’s campaign of which, I am of the view, should be addressed.

#Restructuring, as an issue, is not new. Actually, it was a major part of the campaign of the All Progressives Congress back in 2014/15. Atiku was a member of the APC at the time.

After winning the 2015 Presidential Election, the All Progressives Congress did NOT jettison the topic of #Restructuring. Not at all. Rather, the APC went to the drawing board to identify the best way to go about the issue.

After months of painstaking assessment, the All Progressives Congress constituted the True Federalism Committee (@NGRTrueFed) headed by Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. The committee consisted of 23 members, some of whom have recently moved to other parties… https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/239907-apc-inaugurates-el-rufai-led-23-member-committee-true-federalism.html

The True Federalism Committee got down to work and identified 12 major points that make up the general concept of #Restructuring, as defined by Nigerians from different walks of life.

What followed next was a Call for Memoranda from the general public, based on the 12 classifications, with a 13th option for any other issue anyone might relate to #Restructuring…

Following the Call for Memoranda was a series of Zonal Public Consultations across the country, covering all the geo-political zones. These consultations were structured to receive feedback from elders, women, the youth & CSOs.

The Public Consultations weren’t restricted to within the shores of Nigeria alone as the @APCUKingdom collaborated among themselves to host one for Nigerians in the UK…

While the consultations moved from zone to zone within Nigeria, some of us can still remember Alhaji Abubakar Atiku’s comments regarding the input from the North East zone, with particular reference to Gov. M.A. Abubakar’s contribution…

The seriousness of the consultations on #Restructuring (True Federalism) led to the invitation of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai to discuss the issue at Chatham House back in September, 2017…

The True Federalism Committee were working closely with the leadership of the National Assembly at the time, hoping for immediate and rapid deliberations as soon as the consultations were done, and the report sent to #NASS.
Back then, Hon. Yakubu Dogara and Sen. Bukola Saraki were (assumed to) still be members of the All Progressives Congress

At the end of the consultations, the Mallam Nasir El-Rufai-led @NGRTrueFed made the report of their findings public, and actually organized a public presentation for that.

For an extensive read on the report submitted by the True Federalism Committee, kindly click here to download a copy: https://www.proshareng.com/report/%20Elections%20/Summary-of-Findings-by-APC-True-Federalism-Committee/10931

With the amount of work put in by this All Progressives Congress administration regarding the issue of #Restructuring, I believe what Nigerians should know that we are beyond the conversation stage. Rather, focus should be on why National Assembly has never deliberated on it.

It is my hope now that Sen. Bukola Saraki is done with his games & gallivanting, he will reconvene the National Assembly, and get to deliberating on the tons of issues begging for their attention. Issues that would truly help to #GrowNigeria. Issues like the report on #Restructuring

While I also hope that Alhaji Abubakar Atiku and his people will put an end to bringing it up like it is something new. It isn’t, and the All Progressives Congress have already worked on it. We can move on to the issue of #Corruption whenever he is in the mood.

Thank you.

EFCC Arraigns Saraki’s Aide, Others For Alleged N3.5b Fraud

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday arraigned Senate President Bukola Saraki’s Deputy Chief of Staff Gbenga Makanjuola at the Federal High Court in Lagos for alleged N3.5 billion fraud.

He and three others were arraigned before Justice Babs Kuewumi on 11-counts of money laundering.

They were accused of conspiring to disguise the unlawful origin of N3.5 billion paid into the account of Melrose General Services Limited.

The company was also arraigned.

EFCC said Melrose General Services and Robert Mbonu, said to be at large, between December 14, 2016 and last January “took control” of the money transferred from the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) account to Melrose’s Access Bank account numbered 0005892453.

The commission said they reasonably ought to have known that the money represented proceeds of their unlawful and fraudulent activity.

The alleged offence contravenes Section 15 (2) (d) of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act 2011 (as amended) and punishable under Section 15 (3).

Melrose was accused of involvement in the alleged N19 billion Paris Club scam.

EFCC is accusing the defendants of allegedly converting N3.5 billion of N19 billion London-Paris Club refund to states.

The company had denied involvement in any fraud, saying it was legitimately engaged by the NGF to render services leading to a refund of foreign loan over-deductions made by the states.

EFCC had claimed in a previous forfeiture proceeding that Melrose General Services, whose alter ego is Robert Mbonu, was never engaged by the NGF for any consultancy services in relation to the Paris and London Club loan refund.

The commission claimed that the company allegedly recopied and misinterpreted work done by another consortium to the NGF for payment.

EFCC said Melrose was paid N3.5 billion by the NGF on December 14, 2016, and that it moved out about N2.2 billion of the N3.5 billion, the balance of which the commission had prayed the court to order its forfeiture.

In count 5 of the charge, Makanjuola was accused of making a cash payment of N50 million to Mbonu on December 20, 2016, without going through a financial institution.

The alleged offence is punishable under Section 1 (a) of the Money Laundering Act and Section 16 (2) (b).

EFCC’s lawyer Ekene Iheanacho prayed that the defendants be remanded in prison. He sought for a trial date.

Makanjuola’s lawyer Paul Erokoro (SAN) said his client had a pending bail application.

He said Makanjuola was a former House of Representatives member and was prepared to face his trial.

But, Iheanacho urged the court to dismiss the bail applications, arguing that the defendants would run away if granted bail.

Justice Kuewumi adjourned until October 9 for ruling on the bail applications.

Exposed: How Saraki Rigged, Imposed Razak Atunwa As Kwara PDP Gubernatorial Candidate

The primary election, which held last Sunday ended on a rancorous note after some delegates suspected that ballot boxes had already been filled with the name of one of the aspirants, Hon. Razak Atunwa, member, representing Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.

The ground rules and credibility stand point governing the primary election were deliberately ignored, giving room to anti-democratic norms and a substantially compromised election.

Investigations revealed that voting was said to be going on smoothly when some suspected hoodlums invaded the venue of the voting and disrupted the whole exercise.  The invasion followed the wide-spread speculation that Senate President Bukola Saraki, had infiltrated the process and masterminded the irregularities surrounding the botched election.

Among the aspirants that contested the primary election is Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, who many believed would get the PDP’s ticket but was pushed aside for Hon. Atunwa.

Recall that Mallam Abdullahi, resigned his appointments twice, first as Minister of Sports under former President Goodluck Jonathan, and then recently as National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), due to his loyalty to Mr. Saraki.

Despite Mr. Abdullahi’s loyalty, he was again betrayed by Mr. Saraki as investigation revealed that he was never in the picture of those who Saraki have in mind to take over the baton of leadership from Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

A source, who pleaded not to be named, disclosed that Saraki had a phone conversation with Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi last Saturday, assuring him that he is the chosen candidate.

“Saraki wanted to stage a primary and when it’s all done, he will tell Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi that it was actually the party that rejects him as he can see from the result of the primaries. But when voting commenced last Sunday, it was discovered that a sizeable number of the ballot papers already carried Hon. Atunwa’s name, written obviously by the same person,” the source revealed.

He added that Saraki hurriedly left Abuja on Sunday night to Ilorin, on hearing that the plan to force Hon. Atunwa wasn’t going according to plan. “On arrival, Saraki called the aspirants one after the other and instructed them to step down for Hon. Atunwa.”

Hon. Ali Ahmad and Hon. Atunwa were always Saraki’s choices from the beginning while deceiving Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi. Additionally, Saraki’s decision to force Hon Atunwa on the delegates and other aspirants did not go down well as many argued that Kwara North should produce the next Governor of the state.

Worried by the negative reactions from the disorganized and undemocratic primary elections by concerned residents of the state and political observers, the Senate President and his media team are proactively working to keep the damage to a minimum by posting tweets conferring the Senate President’s assertion that nobody was told to either join or withdraw from the race, and all aspirants are members of Saraki’s political family, and that the family brought them up and will sustain them.

Already, a tweet from the Special Assistant on International Relations to Senator Saraki, already reflected this where he tweeted: “Just in : Governor Ahmed presents Hon. Rasaq Atunwa as the winner of the #KwaraPDPGuberPrimary and the party flag bearer in the 2019 governorship elections. We had a lot of qualified candidates but as one big family @Atunwa_1 will represent us well.”

Saraki: A Dangerous Politician, Says Presidency

The Presidency has described Senate President, Bukola Saraki as someone who had always been dangerous in his entire political career, following his derogatory comments on President Muhammadu Buhari.

Recall that the Senate President, who recently visited Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, to meet with his party’s delegates described President Buhari as one who is lacking in capacity to administer the country.

According to a statement by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, Buhari urged his supporters to ignore the comment which he described as derogatory and instead, employ a decent language in their own use of language.

Querying the moment Saraki realised that Buhari lacked vision, Shehu wondered why the Senate president whom he said had worked closely with the president and had always been full of praises for him suddenly changed the language.

The statement read: “The Presidency wishes to react to the crude speeches hitting the news from Senator Bukola Saraki who recently joined the Peoples Democratic Party with the sole ambition of running as the president of Nigeria.

“In response to the condemnable and extremely derogatory speeches by the PDP aspirant, we urge all Buhari supporters to display restraint in language and conduct and to always put across their points of view in a decent language.

“Throughout his political career, Senator Saraki has shown that he is a very dangerous person who can go any length to promote his personal interests. The language of his campaign is such that cannot be used against a domestic help.

“Is he just knowing that the President lacked vision? This is someone that the Senator had worked with very closely for more than three years. Amazingly, he never said all that he is now saying against him. Rather, his word for and on the President were always respectful and reassuring. That’s the man he called ‘My Father,’ about him ‘there is no cause for alarm…a President who is healthy, witty and himself.’ What then changed, all of a sudden?

“Is he saying these blatantly false and crude things against the President because he is gunning for the same office? Could it be that he is targeting President Buhari because the party he just joined does not have any real issues to highlight?

“Be that as it may, our appeal to our supporters is to ignore Saraki and any such politicians bent on lowering the quality of political discourse. Let them drown in their own waters.”

2019: Saraki, Wike, Tambuwal In fresh Attacks On Buhari, APC

Stalwarts in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has raised their voices against the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senate President and presidential aspirant, Bukola Saraki, had on Monday night, called for the removal of President Buhari from office.

Saraki told supporters in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital that Buhari lacks clues on good governance and has sharply divided the country.

“It is time not to vote for sentiments but for someone that can perform. I believe I have the capacity, ability and track record,” he said.

Similarly, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike accused President Buhari of sponsoring some PDP presidential aspirants, stressing that the people of the state would not be deceived into backing any candidate with compromised credentials.

This came as Sokoto State governor and alsoa PDP presidential aspirant, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, accused President Buhari of failing to curb the insurgency in the northeast and of aggravating poverty.

Tambuwal told supporters in Birnin Kebbi that the Federal Government’s anti-graft agencies were allegedly resorting to blackmail and intimidation to frustrate his ambition.

2019 Presidency: Saraki Gets IBB’s Blessings, Says Senate Working Well Under Him

Former Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has given his support and blessings to Senate President Bukola Saraki, following his declaration of interest to contest the 2019 presidential election under the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This comes just after the Senate president visited him in Minna as part of his nationwide tour to seek support of PDP leaders, supporters and delegates for his nomination as the party’s presidential candidate.

According to Babangida, he said Saraki is prepared for the position, and there could be no better candidate than him.

His words: “You have the right objective for a campaign for leadership. You are much more than prepared because you have been a governor and a senator. You have been leading the Senate very well for the past three years and the Senate has been working well under you.

“You spoke of three important things that are very dear to me and those of us who fought to keep this country together. They are unity, economic development and security. The security of this nation is a no go area. The security of the people and property is uppermost in your mind along with the well-being of ordinary Nigerians. With these, I can say you have the right objectives for leadership of this country.”

Babangida added that he was willing to offer Saraki advice anytime he sought it.

“You have my prayers and support for these three reasons you have enumerated. I hope you keep to your objectives and hope the people will listen to you and believe you because the objectives are for the good of this country. I wish you well.”

APC Spokesman Accepts Saraki’s Challenge To Debate On National TV

The Acting National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Yekini Nabena, has accepted Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s challenge to a debate on national issues on any national television.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Mr Saraki said “Mr Yekinni Nabena should know by now that many people on the media believe he is a robot and has no face. Here is an opportunity for him to come out of his hiding and come on a national television to debate all the issues he has raised with one of the aides of the Senate President.

“We hope he will take up this challenge and stop behaving like a masquerade. He is free to choose any independent TV station of his choice.

“When his masters show their face, we will debate all the issues they have raised and the ones they may wish to even concoct,” the statement said.

Recall that the spoesman, had described Senator Sarakias an abysmal failure and incompetent candidate of leadership as well as guilty of budget padding, among others.

“A Presidential aspirant who promises to create jobs and turn around the economy at the national level, must have done so in a state he served as Governor for eight years. We challenge Saraki to give the nation his scorecard as a Kwara State,” part of the statement read.

Also responding to Saraki’s challenge, Nabena noted that the debate will be between the party and Saraki, and not his aides.

His words: “Is it his aides that will argue for him? What about himself? I am challenging him to come out and debate on national issues with the leadership of the APC.

“He has declared for presidency. If he feels he knows what he will go and do there, he should come out and tell Nigerians. It’s not by bringing his aides. Are they the ones running for presidency?

“APC is ready to take him up on any issue. He believes that he doesn’t have any issue apart from his personal and selfish interest,” he said.

Mr Yekinni further stressed that the senate president doesn’t care about Nigerians because if he does, “he won’t shut down national assembly for months.”

2019 Presidency: Saraki Loses Online Poll To Nigerian Cross Dresser, Bobrisky

As the 2019 general election gathers momentum, Senate President Bukola Saraki yesterday suffered an excruciating defeat in an online poll apparently organised to ascertain his acceptability as a choice for the seat of the Nigerian presidency.

Saraki, who had on Thursday declared his intention to run for president under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was pitched against Nigerian cross dresser, Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju, popularly known as Bobrisky.

In the online poll organised by twitter user, Soul Jah, whose twitter account is @Jeffphilips1, Bobrisky scored 75% to defeat Bukola Saraki who scored 25% in the poll that recorded a total of 6,306 votes.

A quick check at the maths shows that Saraki scored 1,576 of the 6,306 votes, while Bobrisky scored 4,730 votes of the total vote cast, given him a landslide victory.

In another similar poll which seeks to authenticate the claims by Senate President Bukola Saraki that his decision to run for president was born out of the yearnings of Nigerian youths, the Senate President also suffered another loss as most of the participants who took part in the poll indicated that they did not beg Saraki to contest for president.

Speaking while declaring his intention to contest for the number one seat in the country, Saraki had said “It is with all these in mind, and taking account of the challenges that I have outlined, that I have decided to answer the call of teeming youth who have asked me to run for President. I do so with the firm conviction that I have what it takes to secure inclusive growth for Nigeria and Nigerians.”

But majority of the respondents who responded to a question posed by twitter user, Chidi Okereke who tweets @Chydee asking Nigerian youths to indicate by retweet or like whether or not they begged Saraki to run for president said they did not beg him.

As at the time of filing this report, 4018 persons liked the tweet indicating that they did not beg Saraki to contest for president, while only 174 persons retweeted the tweet indicating that they begged Saraki to contest for president.

The result of the poll is coming few days after the Not Too Young To Run campaigners dissociated the movement from the presidential declaration of the Senate President, who had used the occasion of a public dialogue with political parties on youth candidacy and party primaries organised by the movement in Abuja to declare his presidential ambition.

“The movement wishes to express it’s disappointment with Senator Saraki for usurping a platform designed for young aspirants to dialogue with party leadership to advance his political ambition. We strongly condemn this act by the President of the Senate and dissociate ourselves from his political move, a statement from the movement reads in part.
