Soldiers Run for Safety as Boko Haram Kills Another 33 In Mafa, Borno State
For the fourth time in four days, members of the Boko Haram sect has continued their deadly assault on Borno State with at least 33 villagers killed in Mafa, Mafa Local government area of the state.
The latest killing which occurred Monday morning brings the total number of those killed in Borno State in the last four days to 120.
The sect also ambushed and killed at least 14 policemen who were on a mission to help civilians in one of the villages earlier attacked by Boko Haram militants last weekend.
Eyewitnesses said soldiers stationed in the area fled their security positions as the militants arrived the area in a convoy of pick up vans.
A Nigerian senator representing Borno , Khalifa Ahmed Zanna, has confirmed the casualties to which falls in line with reports from the state.
