Soldiers Attached To Gov. Amaechi’s Lodge Withdrawn, Detained By Orders From The Presidency
The battle waged by the Presidency on the Governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amechi has reached its crescendo on Wednesday as about 30 soldiers guarding the Governor’s lodge were summarily withdrawn by the Brigade Commander in charge of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Port Harcourt at the orders of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The moves sources said is to leave Governors security in the hands of his aides, a few police officers and State Security Services agents, so as to create a bloody scenario where violence will be easily perpetrated to give a room for the declaration of a State of Emergency since the plot to impeach Governor Rotimi Amaechi has failed.
Also withdrawn from the Government House are two our of the three Armored Personnel Cars (APC) usually stationed at such places for security purpose.
The Third Armored Personnel Carrier a source said seems disabled and not functional.
Aside withdrawing the soldiers, reports have it that they are been detained and interrogated at the barracks were they were redeployed to.
