Sokoto APC Crisis Deepens as Wamakko, Bafarawa Constitutes Separate Party Excos

The battle of supremacy in the Sokoto State chapter of the All Progressives Congress over who takes over control of the leadership of the party took a different dimension yesterday as the two blocs of the APC separately constituted the part’s state interim committees.

The faction of the party loyal to the state governor, Aliyu Wamaoko had constituted to oversee the affairs of the party ahead of its scheduled membership registration.

The governors backed excos was reportedly given recognition by a statement from the national leadership of the party.

However, the Attahiru Bafarawa-led faction of the APC, on its part, equally constituted its state interim committee yesterday at its supposed state headquarters of the party.

According to a statement issued by the Governor Wamakko-led APC and signed by the party’s deputy national treasurer, Alhaji Usman Danmadami, the interim national executive committee had approved the constitution of a nine-man interim executive committee for the state.
