SoE: Civilians Killed in Cross Fire Between Military and Boko Haram (WATCH)
Civilians have once again beared the brunt in the fight between the Boko Haram sect and the men of the Nigerian military following the offensive of the Nigerian army on Islamist sect Boko Haram strong holds after a state of emergency was declared in three northern states in Nigeria.
While the military is on a daily basis, painting the picture of winning the battle against the insurgents, the Boko Haram sects on the other hand has claimed that soldiers at different times have dropped their weapons and run on sighting them.
While it is difficult to independently verify the claims by the two sides to the battle, it is however not difficult to see that civilians are loosing their lives in the cross fire.
A video obtained by Al Jazeera shows images of the Nigerian army’s battle against Boko Haram fighters in the northern state of Borno, one of the states under emergency rule, where bodies of Boko Haram rebels and many civilians, including women and children are dsiplayed.
