SEN. Peter Nwaoboshi’s Childish Attack On Femi Adesina, By Lauretta Onochie

And guess who came to show his uncouthness in Abuja. No other than Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi! Those who knew he tagged along to the meeting of the President by the Niger Delta Stakeholders, would wonder why he was not in the official group photos taken after the meeting.
We would have ignored his childish tantrum after the meeting, had he been an ordinary Nigerian. But Peter Nwaoboshi, erstwhile chairman of PDP in Delta state, who presided over the plundering of Delta state, and now a serving Senator, should not be ignored at Abuja, the way he was in Delta state.
It was a cordial meeting of the President, government officials and Niger Delta leaders. Even Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa was extra cheerful, friendly and patriotic in his utterances as opposed to his usual antagonistic stance at Abuja, where he had called for a discontinuation of the war against corruption. We have no way of knowing if this “born-again” posture has anything to do with the recent unsavoury revelation by Sahara Reporters that some funds had changed hands between the Governor and a Judge.
The practice was for all attendees to have a group photo with the President. But because there were quite a number of them, the Special Adviser to the President on Media thought it would be better to have the group photos in three batches.
(1) The traditional rulers
(2) The Senators and Governors
(3) Others
But Peter Nwaoboshi felt he was too important to stand with the Governors. He wanted to have a photo shoot for the Senators ONLY. He made his request known to Mr. Femi Adesina who politely told him that it was already decided that there would be three groups instead of one. And that he was sticking to the plan.
Peter Nwaoboshi felt insulted that he wasn’t going to have his way. He verbally lashed out at Mr. Adesina. “Look at him, who does he think he is?” “He is a nobody”, he went on. He further went on to say that Mr. Adesina was a “Common Appointee” who would not win any election. He repeated that severally. Then Mr Adesina fired back at him saying, “We all know how you got to where you are”. So, like a spoilt little brat, and a rain-drenched dog, his ego was deflated and Peter Nwaoboshi bellowed on his Aides, “Let’s get out of this place.” They tried to calm him down to no avail.
Those who were standing by, could not help but wonder if Peter Nwaoboshi had issues with political appointees the way he denigrated appointments, having sponsored scores in Delta state. His utterances were nothing short of lunacy. He was not the only one there. The Presidency had bent backwards to accommodate everyone in that meeting in a group photograph as the meeting over ran into the time for the next meeting.
But I was not surprised at all at what I was witnessing He is my Senator. He represents my Anioma people of Delta state of Nigeria, a people he treats with disdain and great disrespect.
You see, I belonged to a Whatsapp group with Bar. Peter Nwaoboshi and Mrs Amaechi Mrakpor, another disrespectful individual that represents some Anioma people at the Lower house. In this group, young Anioma constituents would ask simple questions and these two would feel insulted, and rain abuses on the young people. Bar. Nwaoboshi would ask the youngsters if their parents had the ability to win an election. I have never seen such a situation where those that we know how they forced their services on us, would continually insult, belittle and bully those they pretend to serve.
When it comes to representation, Anioma people are not lucky. But that will change. We cannot continue to have self-serving, uncouth, disrespectful, half baked representation at any level. Our people deserve better than those who disrespect and lie to them.
Many may not know it, but the Federal Government supplied Federal legislators with palliative items for their constituents. But in Anioma, these were paraded as if they came from the personal pockets of the legislatives, taking the glory for items that were rightfully the people’s! How deceptive.
As long as our representatives continue to toe the lines of ignominy, we will continue to hold them to account. A representative is a servant of the people. We demand service. Good honest service. Nothing less.
God bless Anioma
God bless Nigeria
God bless us everyone
