Sen. Gbemi Saraki To Give Out N2.8m In Scholarships
Sen. Gbemisola Saraki will tomorrow disburse a total of 2.8 million naira as scholarships to eight indigent students that just got admitted into the Nigerian Law School. The students are expected to receive their grants tomorrow, 15th November, 2014 at Saraki’s residence, GRA, Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.
In a press release obtained from Saraki’s personal assistant today, Mrs Olayemi Yusuf, eight indigent students, drawn from the three senatorial zones that made up Kwara state, will be given a sum of N350,000 each for their law school tuition and upkeep.
“This has been the practice every year and our passion for education will even propel us to do more in coming years. The beneficiaries have been subjected to several test and have shown that they really deserve the scholarship.”
The beneficiaries include: Kazeem Azeez Idowu of Aminu magaji Street, Ogidi, Ilorin; Saliu Ismail Baruten of Kayode Ola Williams Street, Pipeline; Aderibigbe Taiwo of 30, Akorede Street, Tanke Ilorin; and Saad Lukman of 43, Elepo-Aran compound Oloje, Ilorin.
Others are: Yusuf Ishiaq Kehinde of 75, Alagesinwo compound, Abegunde junction, Okelele, Ilorin; Abubakar Issa Imam of Imam Gambari compound, Ilorin; Ayeni Olushola Gabriel of Behind MM Yoghurt, Tanke, Ilorin; and Taofiq Abdulrazaq.
The award ceremony will have in attendance students leaders, family and friends of the beneficiaries among others, the statement reads.
