Scores Killed, Several Properties Razed as Boko Haram Invade Borno Community
It was yet another bloody day in Borno State as heavily armed men suspected to be members of Boko Haram sect, on Monday invaded Dille Village in Askira-Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.
Scores of people were reported to have been killed by the sect members follwoing the attack.
The extremists also razed down three churches, including the Church of Brethren in Nigeria (EYN), as well as shops and residential buildings in the area.
It was gathered that the attackers stormed the village, heavily armed with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), anti aircraft guns and Rocket Propelled Launchers.
A resident told Punch that he cannot give the exact number of casualties as the incident is still ongoing, but said that many lives are feared dead in the attack, adding that two Air Force fighter jets have arrived Dille to calm the situation.
