Saraki To Lead Senate Delegation To Aare Ona Kankanfo’s Installation
Senate President Bukola Saraki has said he will lead the delegation of the members of the Senate to the Aare Ona Kankanfo’s Installation in Oyo State.
He stated this in Abuja, on Thursday, when the designate, Gani Adams, paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
According to him, Adam’s determination and commitment to the promotion of culture and tradition elevated him to the position.
“The national Coordinator of the Yoruba militia group, Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) is not a stranger to me. I have known him for long, especially when I was the Governor of Kwara State, when he often visited the state for several cultural and people-oriented events.
“I assure you that I will lead the delegation of the members of the Senate to Oyo on your installation day.”The Aare Ona Kankanfo designate, commended the courage, which Saraki had displayed since he emerged as president of the senate in the last two and a half years.
He commended the political wisdom, which he has been deploying in the affairs of the upper chamber.“We have witnessed a lot of activities of different senate presidents since 1999, but the way and manner you have approached issues are excellent.“You have transformed and repackaged the image of the legislative arm of government in Nigeria,” Adams added.
