Reps Charges IGP To Arrest killers Of 4 Policemen In Edo
The House of Representatives has called on the Inspector General of Police to uncover and prosecute killers of four policemen in Edo state.
It also wants a joint patrol team of Police and Defence to stem the growing cases of assailants killing policemen
These resolutions followed a motion by the Deputy Chief Whip of the House, Mr.Pally Iriase on the killing of Four Police Men in Sabongida-Ora of Edo state, last Saturday.
Consequent upon the presentation by Mr.Iriase, the House urged IGP Ibrahim Idris to set up a crack team of detectives to arrest the culprits.
It further called on the IGP, and the Chief of Defence Staff, Gabriel Olorishaki to set up a joint patrol team to stem the tide.
Other Lawmakers while contributing to the motion expressed wonder that policemen who had been trained to safeguard lives and property have become objects of surprise ambush and killing
This motion is coming barely two weeks after a similar one on the killing of seven policemen in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
