RE: On the Defection of Nasarawa Deputy Governor: A Rejoinder By Ibrahim Kabir Dallah
I read with alarm and utmost dismay a sponsored article published on Tuesday Dailytrust by one ADAMU UMAR ZAKARI of the Gamji Memorial Youth Club Nasarawa State chapter ranting with the above caption, as such I urge ADAMU UMAR ZAKARI to take solace in the words of Winston Churchill that says “The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.”
Ordinarily I wouldn’t have descend so low in replying ADAMU UMAR ZAKARI false assertions but for the benefits of the unsuspecting general public and to put things in their right perspectives, as such this rejoinder has becomes necessary.
“We also feel it is appropriate to defend the hard earned integrity and reputation of the Governor of Nasarawa State and the A.P.C which has been at the receiving end”-Zakari.
The above assertions by Zakari is nothing but a falsehood, it is disheartening to read youth of Nasarawa State that their future is not even assured due to the bad leadership of Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
Without much ado, there is nothing like integrity about the Governor Almakura that whole heartedily polarised the National body of the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA) in a quest to succeed. his second term bid, what is integrity about a man that unlawfully detends a Youth like us in prison without court hearing and injuction called Comrade Yusuf Abubakar Doma (Sarkin Yakin NANS) for the offence he didn’t commits as I write, Abubakar is still in prison , what is integrity about the man that sacked over 5000 youths from work since when he assumed office as the Governor of Nasarawa State, what is integrity about the man that bought houses in the United State of America with tax payer money, what is integrity about a man out of his selfish interest is presently deprieving his deputy from performing his official duties since when he defected from APC, what is integrity the man that carelessly left the state own institutions on strike for many months, I could go on and on mentioning many sins of Governor Al-Makura.
Though, in as much as I am not holding brief for our respected, dynamic, patriotic, amiable and hardworking Deputy Governor, Mr Damishi Luka Barau, Jp but as a patriotic youth and Students in Nasarawa State, we must say things the way the are for posterity purpose.
However, we are so much convienced that the Deputy Governor defected to PDP based on the fact that he has realized that the Governor has derailed from the blue print and manifestoes on ground to tackle the needed problem of unemployment, youth empowerment and people of Nasarawa State that are wallowing in abject poverty, we are equally aware the Governor lacks the reguisite and holistic approach to end the lingering crisis in some part of the State.
In his words “Well, as far as I’m concerned, from the day I defected to the PDP I knew such write-ups will crop up and my judgment about them is simple: impression of pains for the loss of a valuable thing that you have – that is the summary. However, I think the authors of these write-ups are deliberately positioning themselves. Having certified that they have lost something valuable, they are now looking for ways of destroying that valuable thing so that it will not become useful to itself. But, unfortunately, they are talking to somebody who knows what he is doing and equally knows much about them.
Let me say in clear terms, I’m aware government sponsors all these write-ups, which is why I say they are doing it out of pain and I don’t want to join issues with them. However, one fact that I must state here is, to add to my assertion on the day of leaving APC. I said I was tired of dealing with liars and in falsehood; and what they did in those write-ups was to exhibit those vices that I said I hated, which made me leave them. You can see, even when I left they were still exhibiting those characters which I think has vindicated me”-Damishi Luka.
It is a pity that up till date some youth in Nasarawa State can not outline the duties of the Government, until we realise that it is a duty and responsibility of every government to provide portable drinking water, electricity, security for life and properties, construction of good road and many more, it is also laugable for someone to mentioned things done by the goverment as a previlige that is even if there is ONE.
To some of us that have travel across Nigeria, it is not new reading unprincipled youth praising the government that has not added value to the life of an ordinary man walking in the Street of Lafia and is not even ready to do what will be of benefit to the teeming Youths of Nasarawa State.
As I write now with all sense of humility, to quickly correct the many lies of Gov. Almakura and his co-horts on the misleading position of his executed projects in Nasarawa state, no doubt an ordinary person or persons may hate my guts or even try to deride my person on my stand over the direction less,Vision less and the divide and rule government of Almakura Administration in Nasarawa state, but in the end I will be vindicated for standing on the side of the truth, it is embarrassing and a slap on the intellectual citizens of Nasarawa State,to read the misguided position on the projects executed by Governor Almakura, it is on record that since Almakura assumed office has not single handily constructs any road in any part of Nasarawa State, all those projects are from MDG’s and that of Schools are by ETF.
Therefore, I dare Governor Almakura to come out boldly and tell us what has he been doing with our State funds.
In conclusion, the recent defection of our visionary deputy Governor Mr Damishi Barau Luka is a clear confirmation that Nasarawa state is on the verge of collapsing, and needed to be rescue by voting him out Almakura come 2015, to us as the future leaders of Nasarawa State Mr Damish has left “Darkness For Light”.
