Private Jet: Court Strikes out Governor Amaechi’s Against NCAA
The Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt on Saturday struck out the suit instituted by the Rivers State Government against NCAA for the continued detention of their aircraft. This was contained in a statement by the SA (Media) to Aviation Minister, Mr Joe Obi.
The Rivers State Government which had its aircraft grounded last year by NCAA had sought the Court’s order to compel NCAA to release their aircraft, but Counsel to NCAA, Dr Alex Izinyon, SAN, objected to the competence of the entire action, praying the Court to dismiss the suit on grounds of want of jurisdiction.
The State Government however told the court that they wish to discontinue with the case and thus the case was struck out.
The state government may be considering another option to fight the grounding of the private jet by the NCAA.
