Presidential Election: Buhari Predicted to Win by Oluseun Akinrinoye
I have watched the build up to the presidential elections and I have been following events unfold. I have decided to give a shot at analysing how the votes may likely swing and who may likely win using figures as released by INEC. The analysis below is strictly my opinion considering different factors ranging from candidate’s popularity, previous voting pattern and the issues around which voters are likely to decide. The build up to this election has been characterised with severe personalty attacks to the candidates. While some believe change is what we need now, others believe we should continue like this.
Assumptions made in the Analysis
- Voters turn out will be 70% of PVC collected
- 5% of Votes Cast will either be void or belong to other candidates
- Analysis based on PVC collection data released by INEC as at 21 March 2015
|Voting Prediction Analysis|
|S/N||States||PVC Collected||% of Votes by Each Candidate||Actual Votes by Candidate|
Summary Based on Geo Political Zones
|PVC Collected||Buhari’s Votes||GEJ’s Votes|
From the conservative analysis above, the North West has a whooping approximately 16 million votes which is indeed a plus to the Buhari camp. the South West is next with 9.2 million PVCs collected. I believe strongly that Buhari will coast home to victory by Saturday provided we all allow the rigging machine of the PDP to fail, my final prediction is that whoever wins the South West would win the elections, which will likely be Buhari.
My Final Appeal
As campaigns for the elections end today, I want to appeal to all fencists or all those that are still undecided to cast their votes for General Muhammadu Buhari as President. He is the man we need to give responsible leadership which has been lacking in Nigeria. The truth is we are all tired of insecurity, lack of stable electricity despite billions of dollars spent, corruption, dilapidated infrastructure, the list is endless.
The ruling party has depleted our resources so badly doling out dollars all in the bid to win re-election. Like Bola Ahmed Tinubu said yesterday at his colloquium, the people’s time has come and it is time for common sense revolution. Do not be left out, let us all March for Buhari on Satuday 28 March 2015 and vote for a the man that can assemble a great team full of proven technocrats. Like I did for GMB in 2011, my thumbprint will be beside the broom on Saturday.
Let’s do this!!!
