President Jonathan’s Plot To Pull Down Gov Akpabio’s Political Structure Uncovered
President Jonathan has increasingly become weary of Governor Akpabio in recent times and is currently doubtful of his loyalty, especially as it concerns his desire to return to the number one seat when his tenure expires in 2015.
In order to ensure that Akpabio does not stand as a stumbling block, President Jonathan has reportedly contracted former Secretary to the Akwai Ibom State Government (SSG) Mr Umana Okon Umana to pull down the political structure of the governor.
Mr Umana is reported to have opened an office at Wuse 2 in Abuja to effectively execute the plan and is said to be enjoying the backing of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The office, which is at 39 Durban Street, Wuse 2, is to used for the political engineering on how Mr Umana can take over the political structures of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state from Akpabio.
Jonathan is not ready to take chances on 2015, hence he has contracted Mr Umana to dislodge Akpabio.
The Abuja office is to be run by one Mike Bush and a Northern political mobiliser with a large following, Mallam Usman.
But in a swift reaction to the plot, the Akwa Ibom State government, through the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr Aniekan Umana, said Akpabio was unmoved by the plot, saying Umana had no political relevance in the state.
The commissioner further said it was laughable for Umana to think that he could fight Akpabio from Abuja, assuring that President Jonathan was confident of the governor’s loyalty to him.
It would be recalled that Governor Akpabio forced Mr. Umana to resign as SSG in July this year.
Umana, it was gathered then, dared the governor, saying he would spill the beans on Akpabio if he attempted to stop him from becoming governor in 2015.
