Police Service Commission Promotes 8,916 Senior Officers
The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of eight thousand, nine hundred and sixteen, senior officers to their next substantive ranks.
The head press and public relations of the commission Ikechukwu Ani said in a statement that the promotions were the high points of the 5th plenary meeting of the commission held in Abuja on March 26 and 27 2019 and presided over by its chairman, Musiliu Smith.
The commission approved the promotion of three Commissioners of Police to the next rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police.
They are; Jona Jackson Mava; Olushola Babajide David and Titus Sumba Larmode.
Two Acting Commissioners of Police, Rudolf Echebi Obe, works and Danladi B. Lalas, air wing was also confirmed as full commissioners.
Seventy-one Assistant Commissioners of Police were elevated to the next rank of deputy commissioners of police and among them is the police spokesman, Frank Mba.
One hundred and two chief superintendents of police, CSP’s, were also promoted to assistant commissioners of police, while four hundred and eighty-seven Deputy Superintendents of Police were elevated to superintendents.
Among the new Superintendents of Police Aree Atiku Ibrahim, Personal Assistant to the Acting Inspector General of Police; Florence Odewo; Ojo Abraham; Mohammed Idris and Abraham Ogedengbe.
One thousand, one hundred and sixty-five assistant superintendents of police, asps, were promoted to the next rank of deputy superintendents of police, DSP’s, while seven thousand and eighty-six inspectors were elevated to Assistant Superintendents of Police.
The police service commission says the promotions will be conveyed to the acting inspector general of police, on, Monday, April 1,
