Police Assure Of A Crime-Free Transition Programme, Orders Diversion Of Traffic And Tight Security Around Eagle Square
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase, NPM, fdc, today re-echoed his administration’s determination to make Nigeria a safe heaven, where all well-meaning residents can express their full potentials for the nation’s advancement.
IGP made this assertion during a meeting with the top brass of the Nigeria Police.
He used the occasion to announce successes recorded in the operations recently launched to wipe out cultism and kidnapping in Edo, Ekiti and Ondo States and vowed to technically amputate criminally minded persons wherever and whenever they operate within the country.
He announced the arrest of kidnapping kingpins in Edo and Ekiti States with a resolve to charge the suspects to court as soon as the courts resume.
The IGP also used the occasion to announce a massive deployment of Police resources to ensure a successful transition programme come 29th May, 2015.
Meanwhile, the IGP has ordered the diversion of traffic on all roads around Eagle Square on
Friday, 29th May, 2015.
He has also ordered tight security at Eagle Square, Hotels, key and vulnerable places within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as well as the mounting of Tactical Operation Points on all roads leading into and out of FCT.
The Nigeria Police Force apologizes for the inconveniences these arrangements may cause motorists and members of the public.
