Poem: Shall We Thumb Umbrella Again By Mubarak Anwar Rijiyarlemo
Slave become master overnight
Servant serve himself not his masters
Stealing is not corruption in his book
Shoeless matched on masses who thumb him to power
Sorrow bedevils our nation at his watch
They crippled and mute Nigeria in the name of transformation
Soaked blood loads length and breadth of the nation
Shall we thumb the umbrella that turn children to orphans
Shall we go for umbrella that turn wives into widows
Shall we thumb umbrella which can’t protect us from sun and rain
Shall we thumb umbrella that protect only it’s holders
Change is inevitable, positive change is coming
I ain’t poor, umbrella impoverished the nation
I ain’t jobless, umbrella brought no light while promising cutlass to museum
I ain’t illiterate, religion and ethnicity will no more be our yard-stick
Wind of change blows, corrupt tent vanish
Will greedy broom holders let it sweep dirt
Will broom take us to promise land
Shall we thumb the broom revolution
Shall we be oil of revolution that yield in Lagos And Kano
