PHOTOS: Drama as Amaechi’s Loyalists Opens ‘New’ PDP Secretariat in Port Harcourt
A mild drama occurred in Port Harcourt, the Capital City of River state Thursday, as the Rivers state chapter of the Abubakar Baraje led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, opened its secretariat in the state.
The new office was launched after a media briefing by the Chief of Staff to Rivers State Governor, Tony Okocha and other members of the state executive council as well as loyalists to Governor Chibuike Amaechi.
But just when official of the party had proceeded to the secretariat located at the popular Forces Avenue in old G.R.A Port Harcourt to hoist the flag of the party, officers and men from the Rivers State police command invaded the area.
Undeterred by the Presence of the Police, the flag of the party was successfully hoisted with little or no resistance from the policemen.
As at the time of this report, the flag of the party was still flying at the factional secretariat of the party, but it is not known what will become of it, especially as the faction’s party headquarter was sealed by the police in Abuja.
