PHOTOS: #BringBackOurGirls Street Protest in Abuja
Tuesday, 19th August marks exactly 127 days since the Chibok girls were abducted from their school dormitory in Chibok, Borno State.
Since their abduction, the BringBackOurGirls campaigners have remained committed to continue to observe daily sit-outs and protests until the girls are back ALIVE.
They took their protest to the district of Asokoro in the Federal Capital Territory to re-awaken the plight of the Chibok girls whose fate in the hands of their abductors is unknown.
Reviewing Monday’s street protest in Abuja at its daily sit-out session yesterday, the group said that as the world celebrated World Humanitarian Day, it would continue with its call for the rescue of the girls.
“Since we have made commitment that we will always stand with the girls, we will continue to stand. Nothing is going to silence our movement. We just have to continue.
“During the street protest on Monday, someone was asking if we are still meeting and the answer one of us gave him was, ‘Have the girls been found?’ This is our stand; that we will continue to stand until the girls have been brought back.”
