Photo: Asari Dokubo Holds Strategic Meeting with OPC Founder, Frederick Fasheun
The Niger Delta Volunteer Peoples Force (NDVPF) led by Alhaji Asari Dokubo and the O’odua Peopales Congress (OPC) led by Dr. Frederick Fasheun have always been in the news for a long time coming. While the Asari Dokubo led group was known to be behind several unrest in the Niger Delta, the O’odua Peoples Congress came to public limelight when a bitter fight ensued between its founder, Dr. Fasheun and a factional leader, Gani Adams.
Only recently, the OPC was linked to an anti-pipeline vandalisation contract in the south west region, a similar thing that is currently going on in the Niger Delta with Asari’s group playing a prominent role.
With the similarity that exists between these two group and the fact that they have been in the news in recent times for obvious reasons, it is no surprise when the leader of the two groups where pictured in Lagos after holding what is described as a strategic meeting
According to comrade Rex Ekiugbo Anighoro, spokesman to the Alhaji Dokubo Asari led Niger Delta People’s Salvation Front (NDPSF), a meeting was held with Dr. Fredrick Fasheun, Founder, O’odua People’s Congress (OPC) and the Niger Delta People’s Salvation Front (NDPSF) led by Abubakr Dokubo Asari, to strengthen the self determination strategic collaboration between the people of the O’odua – South West and the Niger Delta.
We await to see what becomes of this collaboration.
