PDP Chairman, Bamanga Tukur Signals Resignation, Removes Personal Belongings from Office
Event unfolding in the party secretariat of the crisis ridden Peoples Democratic Party, PDP indicates that the embattled national chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur may be contemplating resigning from his position.
Abusidiqu.com gathered that Tukur ordered his personal aides to remove some of his belongings from his office and left the country for Canada yesterday.
In what would seem like a preparation for the possible decision, The chairman of the party last week sacked all his 14 special advisers.
The leadership of Tukur in the party has brought no good to the PDP as one crisis or the other continues to tear the party into shreds. He has been at war with virtually everyone who matters in the party’s leadership including the Governors Forum, Board of Trustees and other national officers of the party in the National Working Committee, NWC.
The BoT chairman of the PDP, Tony Anenih was said to have given a damning report on Tukur to Jonathan on the need to sack the chairman to pave the way for proper reconciliation within the party. As a result, Jonathan is said to have been very cold towards Tukur in the last five days. “The chairman has actually found it difficult to have access to the president like before. So, his preparation to leave on his own must be because he has seen the handwriting on the wall”, a presidential aide said in Abuja.
