First Lady Patience Jonathan Loses “Mum to Road Accident
A source who spoke on the incident said the woman popularly called Sese and hails from Okrika Local Government Area, was on her way to Bayelsa State when the accident happened, adding that her remain had since been deposited at Kpaima mortuary in Diobu area of Port Harcourt by a team of policemen and a member representing Ogu Bolo State Constituency, Mr. Evans Bipi, who is a relative to the deceased.
Though as at press time, there were no official statement from the Police and Federal Road Safety Corp on the incident, as the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Angela Agabe she said she had no signal on the incident.
According to her, if the mother of the President’s wife was involved in an accident it would not be hidden, adding that the Police would have been contacted long ago.
But Mr. Fred Itobo who is an aide to Bipi confirmed the death of the first lady’s mother.
“Yes! She was involved in an accident and she died. Her body has been taken to a mortuary. Bipi was among those who took her body to the mortuary,” Itobo said.
A source from Okrika who spoke to the Vanguard said the deceased might not be the biological mother of Mrs Jonathan, adding that the first lady probably took her as a mother
“I am not sure she was the mother. But she probably chose to call her mother”, the source said.
