Osun Election: Security Forces Begin Clampdown on APC Leaders, Arrests Yemi Oke
With just five days to the August 9 governorship election in Osun State, security agencies have allegedly began to arrest some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state.
A Statement by the APC in Osun state on Tuesday alleged that an APC in Obokun Local Government, Hon. Yemi Oke, was arrested by “Special Forces” from Abuja led by local PDP leaders at about 2.30 am today.
The “Special Forces” had earlier in the night visited his Ilare-Ijesa home to arrest him but he was not found, the party’s Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi said in the statement.
He added that: “The PDP leaders then led the special force to his Osogbo residence where he was picked up and hounded into detention.”
“Up until the release of this statement, the fate of Hon. Oke remains unknown while no security agency has explained the reason for the arrest and detention of Hon. Oke,” Oyatomi said.
