President Muhammadu Buhari, on September 30 sent a partial list of 21 ministerial nominees to the senate for confirmation. Among the names forwarded was Dr. Osagie Emmanuel Ehanire.
In the tradition of the senate, Dr Ehanire presented himself for screening by the upper legislative chamber and his since been confirmed as a minister and now awaiting swearing-in by the president.
While there are other medical doctors among the list of ministerial nominees President Buhari sent to the senate, the impeccable records of Dr. Ehanire, whose works span Nigeria to other parts of the world clearly makes him a perfect fit to mount the saddle of the Ministry of Health.
His records as detailed below speaks for itself.
He was Senior Registrar at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Divisional Consultant Surgeon, Shell Petroleum Development Company Hospital, Clinical Instructor, Fracture Internal Fixation course, BG Accident Hospital Duisburg, Germany. He is a contributor to the orthopaedic book: “The severely Injured Limb”, edited by John Ackroyd
Dr. Ehanire served on Medical review Boards within and outside Nigeria, was a member of the defunct Bendel and Edo State Hospitals Management Boards, and is currently a Trustee of TYDanjuma Foundation, Chair of the Board’s Programmes, Grants and Policy Committee.
He was appointed as a Congress for Progressive Change, CPC delegate to the political merger conference that gave birth to the All Progressives Congress and was Edo State coordinator of Buhari Campaign Organization, where he, among others, urged Nigerians to disregard insinuations that All Progressives Congress, APC, standard bearer Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (trd) will islamize the country if elected president in the March election.
