IGP MD Abubakar: Arise Before Governor Almakura Kills Me By Ibrahim Kabiru Dallah

Sir, i write you this an open letter consequent upon my inability to gain access to your highly exalted office. I write you today to please, deliver me from an untimely death as an information at my disposal has it that the governor of my home nasarawa state, Alhaji Tanko Almakura has instructed his special assistant on students maters, Kasim Muhammad to bring me down over my consistent cum critical perusal of his administration.

Sir, I wish to inform you that I am being threatened based on some fundamental issues that I raised against the Almakura led government in Nasarawa State. I am being pursued over my stand against the persistent polarization of the national union government of the Nasarawa State Students’ Association (NASSA) by the agents of Governor Tanko Almakura.

In what is quite analogous and pretty similar to the crisis of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), the national body of Nasarawa State Students’ Association (NASSA) has been factionalized courtesy of alleged political involvements and underhand dealings of Governor Almakura, the Commissioner for Higher Education, Mr Philip T. Shekwo; the Special Assistant to Nasarawa State Governor on Student Matters, Kasim Muhammed Kasim, and a section of past and present student leaders in our 17 years old State.

A document from the office of the outgoing National President, Comrade Taimako Sunday which was signed by Lucky Yargwa and Thomas Ezekiel Averson, the National Vice President and National Public Relations Officer respectively, states categorically that the meeting which produced Friday Chorio from Nasarawa State University (one of the factional leaders), was marred by intimidation, harassment and threat from Kasim Muhammad , the SA to the Governor on Student Matters with the satanic assistant of the Ministry for Higher Education. This statement was also contained in the communiqué issued at the end of the convention at the Nasarawa State Polytechnic Lafia.

Sir, i wish to inform you that Nasir Abdullahi from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria is the authentic caretaker committee Chairman recognized by the outgoing National Executives of NASSA, and endorsed and acknowledged by the entirety of the authentic students in Nasarawa State.

Sir, it’s preposterous, laughable and incongruous to discover that Mr Kasim, the Nasarawa State Ministry of Higher Education, and Governor Almakura conspired together with he aides of some renegades to impose their puppets as NASSA caretaker committee members.

Sir, May i inform you that Nasarawa State Students Association is an association embedded in peace, unity and tranquillity ever since the creation of our State until the emergence of Kasim Muhammad  as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Matters.

Sir, may i inform you that an injury to one is an injury to all. I must not die and no evil must befall me. I shall continue to exercise my fundamental human rights of rights to speech, expression and association.

Consequently, Sir, I hereby invite you to act immediately so as to forestall a total breakdown of law and order in Nasarawa state.

The SA has admitted severally, both in private and in public that threats to my life exist, and that, in actual fact, real and satanical attempts have been made on my life.

In the light of the foregoing, i hereby call on you sir, to please, do the following:

i. Investigate the polarization of the Students Association,  which has resulted into constant intimidations, oppressions  of the innocent citizens and the State Commissioner for Higher Education,  Mr Philip T. Shekwo should be made to explain his actions on why the Students Associstion has been factionalized.

ii. All factionalized parties to relinquish their position, self aggrandizement and join hands with the duly recognized officials.

111. That no evil must happen to me for the next ten years.

iv. The outgoing Executives of NASSA under the leadership of Taimako Sunday should be allowed to conduct a fresh election into the various offices for peace to reign permanently in the State, and for more clarification and facts about the current crisis, the outgoing President can be reached on 07031346380 while the Secretary General Mohammed Lawal Mohammed on 07061673072.
