One Mistake That Will Hunt You Forever: An Open Letter To Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje, By Kabeer Yusuf
Your Excellency sir.
I write this particularly to draw your attention to the effect of giving a way to the seemingly apparent pressure and calls by some ‘elements’ in or outside your fold to scrap the most welcomed programme ever initiated by your predecessor.
Your Excellency, a good deal or rather more than majority of parents, guardians, bread-winners as well as self-sponsors were anything happy with the unexpected declaration of FREE EDUCATION for all aKanawa by His Excellency, Engr. Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the earstwhile governor of Kano. Moreover, the development have amply encouraged those that were then out of school for one reason or the other to resume schooling.
Your excellency, i want to make it clearer to you that a countless number of such youth were jobless. The situation which if not with the introduction of such schemes and other youth empowerment programmes could lead them to taking to an arrant, social vices such as theft, robbery, cultism, kidnapping, drug abuse and drug trafficking just to mention a few from the lots. And this, as you know would not do good to the state and to the whole country by extension. Therefore, they gladly gave a warm welcome to the programme and kept on their studies.
With due respect sir, I would like you to turn a blind eye and succumb not to all sort of calls and pressure for the cancellation of this “FREE EDUCATION” programme.
Any insistance sir, I am sorry to say, would unavoidably ruin your chances of being reelected as a governor of Kano come 2019. Because the match will be between talakawa and you.
And this, God forbid, will mark the end of Kwankwasiyya movement in Kano.
