Its Official: Ambode Wins APC Lagos Governorship Primary Election

He defeated 13 other aspirants which include the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Hon. Lanre Ope, former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Mr. Olasupo Sashore (SAN), Senator Ganiyu Solomon and former Health Commissioner Wahab Tokunbo.
Others are: Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Mr. Adekunle Disu, former Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and Mrs. Tobun Agbesanwa, the only woman in the race.
According to the result, Ambode scored 3780 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Obafemi Hamzat who polled 1,201.
Other aspirants in the election scored votes as follows: Lanre Ope scored 0 vote, while Tokunbo Wahab got 7 votes. Another aspirant, Adekunle Disu scored 9 votes, Abayomi Sutton scored 0 vote, while Tokunbo Agbesanwa got 0 vote.
Speaker of the Lagos STate House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji scored 182 votes, Tola Kasali 68 votes, while Supo Shasore, the late entrant into the race got 121 votes.
Senator Ganiyu Solomon scored 272 votes, Lekan Pitan scored 112 votes, while
