An Officer Is Permitted To Marry Another Officer, Says Police Spokesman Jimoh Moshood
The Police have said no law stops an officer in service from marrying another police personnel on officer cadre.
The Force spokesman, CSP Jimoh Moshood, in a statement made available to pressmen in Abuja on Sunday, made this known.
According to him, there are three cadres in the Force: Rank and File Cadre where Constable to sergeant falls, Inspector Cadre where the Inspectors fall and officers cadre.
He mentioned further that police personnel from the rank of an Assistant Superintendent of Police up to Inspector-Genral of Police fall under officer’s cadre.
Recall that a newspaper report had credited the Police Boss, Ibrahim Idris claiming that he was free to have romantic affair with any policewoman.
Moshood, however discredit the report, describing it as “untrue and misleading.”
His words: “What the IGP said in the document submitted tot he Senate Ad-Hoc Committee investigating the spurious allegations against the IG is that no law stops a police officer in service to marry another officer on an officer cadre.
“He never said I’m free to have romantic affairs with policewomen.”
