Obiano Commends Buhari For Ensuring Free And Fair Election In Anambra State
Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring free and fair election in the just concluded governorship polls in the State.
The governor who emerged victorious in the election praised the President on a statement personally signed by him.
It would be recalled that the president had promised the governor during a visit to him at the State House in Abuja that he would not interfere in the polls in the state.
He said the president promise a free and fair election and has kept to his promised.
“My first and deepest gratitude goes to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President MuhammaduBuhari for proving to Ndi Anambra that under his watch, democracy will sink deeper roots in the Nigerian soil. Mr President promised us a free and fair election. Today, we can all see that he has kept his promise. Thank you so much Mr President!”
The governor also thanked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as security agencies for ensuring that the will of the people were not thwarted.
“I must also thank the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting what has been widely adjudged a transparent election in Anambra State. With this election, INEC has shown that it has fully braced up for the 2019 elections. Thank you so much,” the governor said in the statement.
“I will also not forget the vigilance of the Police, the Nigerian Army and other law enforcement agencies whose alertness ensured that the expressed will of the people was not thwarted. Indeed, you have done an incredible job,” he added.
