NO GUN ATTACK AT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT COLLEGE, KANO SAYS POLICE
The Nigeria Police High Command has denied any gun attack or any form of security breach within and around the premises of the Federal Government College, Kano been peddled in the social and other mass media.
This was contained in a statement by the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Csp Frank E. Mba.
Frank Mba said “the story is false in its entirety and that no gun attack or any form of security breach took place within or around the school premises”.
While urging member of the public to always cross check their information with appropriate Police authority before going to the press, the police spokesman “appealed to all users and subscribers of social media and other forms of mass communication to exercise restraint and display high sense of responsibility particularly when such information touches on issues of national security in order to avoid spreading fears and other psychological trauma associated with such false stories.”
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Police to the protection of life and property of all Nigerians and called for the support and collaboration of all well meaning Nigerians towards the realization of this noble and constitutional goal.
The statement further added that “the Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP MD Abubakar, NPM, mni has ordered the strengthening of security and further directs all Zonal AIGs and Command CPs to ensure that security is provided in and around all Unity Schools and Federal Government Colleges within their areas of jurisdiction.”
