No Plans To Reshuffle Cabinet -Presidency
The presidency has denied media report that it had any plans to effect cabinet reshuffle as has been widely speculated. Special Assistant to the president on New Media, Reno Omokri announced on Twitter that the president has “implicit confidence in the ability of the current crop of ministers”.
Reports has since last week been circulating that the president had forwarded a list of ten names to the State Security Service (SSS) for screening and specifically mentioned that the cabinet reshufle will see the current Petroleum Minister, Diezani Allison-Madueke, being replaced with the former Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Timi Alaibe.
There were equally reports that the cabinet reshufle will present an opportunity for the President to replace the National Security Adviser, Andrew Azazi.
Azazi had been on the hot seat since his outburst accusing the PDP of responsibility for the Boko Haram menace.
