Nigeria’s Former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme, Is Dead
Second Republic Vice President, Dr Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme (GCON), has been reported dead after suffering a chest infection which left him in a coma in a hospital for two weeks.
According to a statement released by the Ekwueme family in Anambra state, signed by the traditional ruler of Oko family and brother to the late Second Republic Vice President, Igwe Laz Ekwueme, Alex Ekwueme died around 10:00 pm in London Hospital on Sunday.
“Ekwueme family regrets to announce the peaceful passing away of their patriarch, the former Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme, GCON.
“The sad event occurred at the London Clinic at 10:00 pm on Sunday, 19th November 2017.”
