In order to boost power supply across the State, the administration of Gov Abubakar Sani Bello has bought and distributed 500/33KVA transformers across the 25 local government areas of the state. This was disclosed by honourable commissioner for works Alh. Ibrahim Balarabe Kagara when he launched the distribution at Nyikangbe Villag situated at the outskirt of Minna.
Alh. Ibrahim Balarabe Kagara said it is one of the aim of the administration of Gov Abubakar Sani Bello to ensure that every community in the state is connected to the National Grid which is in line with the administration’s restoration agenda. He disclosed that in addition to the 300 transformers purchased, the administration of Gov Abubakar Sani Bello has also constructed additional 133/33KVA Power Substations at Mokwa, Bida, Kontagora, Paikoro and Wushishi Local Government Areas.
The honourable commissioner added that launching the transformers in Nyikangbe is symbolic in the sense that it was a promise fulfilled. He called on the community leaders and the youths to protect the facility against thieves and vandals.
Speaking earlier, the representative of the village head, Dr. Haruna Adamu Muhammad said the community has been in black out since 2nd November 2017 and all efforts to get AEDC to fix things proved abortive. He thanked Gov. Abubakar Sani Bello for the gesture and solicited for more social amenities to the area.
The commissioner was accompanied to the ceremony by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Engr. Abubakar Sadiq Balarabe, Director Electrical Engr. Is’hak Muhammad Lapai and other top staff of the ministry.
