The Presidential Amnesty Programme of the Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has been applauded by youth groups in the Niger Delta.
The youth groups who paid a solidarity visit to the Amnesty office in Abuja,
explained that the aim of the visit was to express their support to Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Professor Charles Dokubo’s achievements since his inception of office.
A leader of the group, Perema Opia said Professor Dokubo had empowered a lot of youths and was accessible to the people of the region during his nine months in office and should not be distracted.
Another leader, Harry Ajentekebia applauded the Coordinator for his timely interventions and support to the youths.
In his remarks, Professor Dokubo said under his administration, youths of the Niger Delta will not only be paid sixty-five thousand Naira stipend, but will be adequately empowered for the speedy development of the region.
Professor Dokubo stressed the need for increased collaboration and unity to bring about lasting solution to the challenges facing the people of the Niger Delta.
Professor Dokubo stated that the Office does not belong to a few but to all the people of the region and urged youths of the region to avoid bringing their leaders down but support them to succeed.
