New Kogi Gov, Bello Breaks Down In Tears During Inaugural Speech, Promises Action To Rescue State
The newly sworn-in governor of kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello broke into tears during the delivery of his Inaugural speech on Wednesday.
Bello, who began the speech with the acknowledgement of notable party members who contributed to the success of his emergence as the governor of the state was all tears when he acknowledged his late mother who described as his pillar of support.
Speaking to an almost filled 25,000 capacity stadium stadium in Lokoja, Bello promised to take all kogites along irrespective of their ethnic linings, saying ‘na God win o’.
He said he is responsible to each and every one in the state as they have become his big constituency.
“My administration shall exist for the sole purpose of serving the interest of the good people of Kogi state.:
“Ladies and gentlemen, I wish to reiterate the celebrated speech of President Muhammadu Buhari during his inaugural speech’I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody”, he said.
He declared that the singular sentence of the president will be the guiding principle of equitable governance in the state.
Bello, who decried the spate of corruption and impunity in the country declared that his administration will not give future generations the opportunity to fault the government.
“I hereby declare and affirm that the Yahaya bello administration will have zero tolerance for corruption and impunity. I will lead Kogi state by honest and humble example. So help me God.”
On the plan to transform the state, Bello said his administration will employ the use of technology d a multi-layer system to check all leakages in the state finance and work hand-in-hand with the legislature to to bring bout desired change in the state, adding that socio-economic blueprint which will serve as a marshal plan for rescuing the state has been prepared.
He said his government will work with the legislators to immortalise the late Prince Abubakar Audu, whom he described as his leader.
